Subject: Which was your favourite book?

I'm pretty sure lots of people will immediately say "Deathly Hallows" because it's the climax of the series. Personally, I found it to be a lot less well-written than the other books. The middle chapters where they were camping in the woods got me really bored.

In my opinion, "The Half-Blood Prince" was the best, because of the mystery that fills the entire novel.

"The Order of the Phoenix" was really frustrating to read, as everything kept going wrong for Harry. I felt like giving up halfway through.

"The Goblet of Fire" was awesome. Second best in my view.

The first 3 books were rather short, but still really fun to read. (especially "The Prisoner of Azkaban")

So which was your favourite "Harry Potter" book?

Definitely the third. Then a close tie between HBP and OOTP. Then comes GOF.

Deathly Hallows hands down. But my favorite movie so far is Chamber of Secrets. I may not say that much longer though with Half Blood Prince coming out.

The first one is always the best. I really like the innocent 11 year-old Harry, who is so pure at heart, ignorant of the great future awaiting him.

I think the Goblet of Fire because you get to see how talented Harry is as a wizard. The Half Blood Prince is the most entertaining of all because you get so much information about Voldemort and Snape, and they are the most fascinating characters of the entire series.

It easily has to be Goblet of Fire. Then Half-Blood Prince and Deathly Hallows.

I really love the scenes in the Philosopher's Stone but I think the adventures in the Goblet of Fire is better

Deathly Hallows.

It was so exciting!
And Ron and Hermione kissed!
And Harry killed Voldemort!
And Snape died :(

After rereading each of the books several times (around a minimum of five times), I have concluded that the first three books were realy where J.K. Rowling was finding her voice as a writer. I think that after she wrote book three she realized that her audience was not just younger kids. I think that the seventh book is where her writing ability peaked. The story is GREAT and the level of writing is excellent! I am looking forward to her new mystery novel, although unfortunatly my wait may be a long one, since she's so rich she can write for leisure and without a deadline.

I really like The Prisoner of Azkaban, and the Order of the Phoenix. For some reason, I just didn't take to the Goblet of Fire so much, despite all the action, I find it a bit tedious to read. The second half of the Deathly Hallows is amazing, but the first half I find quite boring.

I like the books best from OOTP onward, as they are so much more serious, and have a more continual plot line through the series, rather than being stories in themselves. I think my favorites are OOTP and HBP, and possibly the second half of DH - I agree that the scenes moving around the woods were a bit tedious; I can't imagine what the first movie of that will be like :/

The Goblet of Fire seems so popular among the fans, but is probably my least favorite. Possibly because it is focused primarily on the Triwizard Tournament, and I just find all the Quidditch World Cup stuff a bit dull too. Although the scenes of Voldemort's return are amazing in both book and film :)

I love them all, but if I had to choose one, I would say The Deathly Hallows is best.
