And a fine job you're doing, too, Mel! But I still want to know what New York-style hotdogs are. What makes them different from other hotdogs? I need to know if I've been missing out! Reply #143. Nov 08 10, 6:30 AM |

Hi Mel, sorry I haven't dropped by your blog lately. How the h$ll are you doing? You don't have any cold Grain Belt around here do you? Maybe a couple of chili dogs topped with chopped onions. I like the Costco hot dogs not the ones named after states, cities or entertainment locales. Reply #146. Nov 09 10, 2:45 PM |

Ohhhhh! Builders Square hotdogs used to be extraordinary, too! Too bad they went out of business. I've never actually tasted a Dodger Dog, RJ. I've just been assured they are the best hotdogs on the planet. I only eat hotdogs at baseball, football or hockey games, probably because they're prepared and ready for me to eat, and I can't resist that wafting aroma when I first walk in. Coors Field hotdogs are really good, if you follow your nose and shop around a little bit. Pepsi Center hotdogs are just okay. I have no explanation for this. Budweiser Events Center hotdogs are pretty good. And Miles High Stadium (Invesco Field) hotdogs are definitely above-average. Not all hotdogs are created equal! Reply #147. Nov 09 10, 3:49 PM |

All those hot dog and burger stands always smell so much better than they taste. The actual food is usually a disappointment. Reply #148. Nov 09 10, 4:09 PM |

I went to a few football (UK type!) grounds regularly and became quite familiar with the menus especially at evening games where my meal would be around half time. Barnet is the hot dog while Brentford is better for meat pies but have to make sure no mushrooms have crept in. Wycombe has very good rolls but on the van outside. But they do vary depending what make and how well they've been cooked so do get to know what is best. A cheese and onion pasty is well worth a try if you can still find one, they're not very easy to come across any more despite being pretty popular when they are. Reply #150. Nov 09 10, 6:57 PM |

I only eat hot dogs at the annual Memorial Dayy Picnicc at my grandmother's, where my uncle grills them (as well as burgers and chicken) Reply #155. Dec 08 10, 8:44 PM |
