I think Niki Minaj and her "alter egos," or in this case, "altar egos," is trying like mad to be Lady GaGa, since she also has them. They're both pretty ... hmmmm. I'm just not sure what they both are. I think if you have to explain your alter egos, you probably truly don't have them. Mel, are you watching American Idol tonight? They're dropping like flies, literally,, during Group Week. I don't think it's nerves, I think they all came down with the flu. Thanks, Mel! You're a musical lifesaver! So far, no one is falling over or passing out from whatever that flu bug they all had. That was horrible. In fact, so far, this is incredible tonight. Colton has a faux-hawk tonight, and I didn't know about the sister thing. David Cook originally went with his brother, who was the one who was going to audition. I think "brother" talked David into auditioning too, and he won the whole thing! I think he's my favorite Idol of all, so far. He has an incredible diaphragm! Mel, I didn't say I thought Deandre was going to win (although he might!) I just think he's swoonable, I do love his range (and that isn't a falsetto, that's his high register) and I think he'll drop his last name, like Fantasia did. And Markeesha, or whoever she was. I'm pretty much loving the guys this season. I love that giant with the HUGE bass voice they brought back. Amazing! I also love the girls with those perfect, pure alto voices. They rarely have altos on singing competitions -- it's always sopranos hitting the high notes. Altos are generally singing harmony, so to hear them singing the melody is refreshing! Try hitting some of those low notes the pretty altos are hitting. It's harder than anything the sopranos are doing. This is going to be a really interesting season, that's for sure. Reply #279.
