flopsy--this is so true! "I find that often happens, you reconcile yourself to never getting the badge and within a short time it drops into your lap, lol." My teammates and I have joked about that very concept. I think most of my badges have come that way, especially recently. I find that if I don't think too much, everything falls into place. :D Reply #21. Apr 30 10, 3:40 PM |

I almost won the Monthly Mind Melt badge in March before messing up badly in the last couple of days. I'll finally get it in a few hours. :) Still working towards the Question Quest Challenge badge, 6 questions away. And just one quiz left till I win the 100 quizzes author badge. Reply #24. I am currently trying to just finish all the mini badges, only cats and point precision left. Does anyone know how to calculate the point precision badge? Reply #25. May 01 10, 1:29 AM |

The badges for winning mixed and smartest seem to elude me, whenever I win less than 200 have played and no badge and when I have led when 200 or more have pleyed I seem to get beat in the last 5 minutes, but one day. Reply #26. May 01 10, 4:38 AM |

Moose--I tried this strategy for Point Precision, and it worked great for me. It requires a little bit of skill and lots of luck, which makes it pretty difficult. :D Basically figure out where you stand in your class that day. I was 1st in my class most of the day, which I figured would give me 1000 bonus points if I remained first in class. So the target score for me was not 6789 but rather 5789. As the day was winding down, I looked at my total points...5699. This was actually encouraging, since it put me 90 away from the target of 5789. I got 30 "bonus" points for a 9th-place finish in that hour's Who's the Expert, then played two quick International hourly games for 30 points each. That put me at exactly 5789. Then, the toughest part...I got up from the computer. :D Fortunately, I ended up 1st in class, got the 1000 bonus points and ended up with exactly 6789. One of my classmates even sent me a nice note before the evening ended, as he saw I was on track to get 6789 points that day. With a little strategy and planning, it is possible to do. Best of luck! My recommendation would be: do not play hourlies near the end of the day. You don't want those unnecessary points being added. Like Robert said, near the end of the day, when you are getting close, play instaquizzes. You can play and get the exact number you need right, it helps to be a gold member, you can play both regular and gold instaquizzes... otherwise, if you're just a regular player, you cannot get an odd number of points using them. Stop at 5789, or 6289, depending on whether you'll place 1st or 2nd. Of course, there is a fine line there... If someone in your class has 6,000 points in the end of the day, you cannot win... You pass them to get the 1,000 points, it puts you above 6789. You don't pass them to get 500 points, you won't reach it. It's a tough badge to figure out, for sure. ;-) Reply #28. Yep, swami put it well. Had my "30+30+30" strategy not worked, and had I needed a small, even number of points, I'd have played the instaquizzes for 2 points per question. Fortunately it didn't come to that. Reply #29. May 04 10, 8:53 AM |

Working toward the Atomic Brain. Also slogging along on the POG Hoarder, but not making any fast progress. Because I'm not enjoying a stellar performance with this game, victory will be all the sweeter when I finally get there. Reply #30. May 16 10, 11:55 PM |

Just got one I've been working toward since Oct '08 - the Jack of All Trades. This has been such a long hard slog it's a bit of a letdown to have it finally over... Reply #33. Jun 03 10, 10:06 PM |

Too busy this week but next week I'm gunning for the POG Champ badge again. I've been second on at least three occasions in the past - the weekend is always my downfall. Reply #35. Jun 04 10, 5:56 AM |

Many congratulations, Agony - I groaned the other day when I saw you were robbed in the dying minutes of a game but I'm pleased you've got it at last. :) I was the second person to get a Team Magnate badge so I'm really pleased with that, it's one of my favourites as it took so much effort and commitment by the whole team. A few more Llamas will also be collecting theirs in the next week or so. Go Llamas! Reply #37. Jun 04 10, 8:19 AM |

I just noticed that Mutchisman has just claimed Obscure Researcher with a 15/15 in 273 seconds over in obscurity. Well Done :-D That has to be one of the hardest badges of them all to win! Reply #39. Jun 07 10, 2:35 AM |

That badge is not hard. It is freaking impossible. Today, I ran into a set that was Google friendly, and I still couldn't do it. Reply #40. Jun 07 10, 2:56 AM |
