I agree with so many of the prior posters' choices. For hilarious wit you can't beat "The Importance of Being Earnest." When Lady Bracknell states, "I do not approve of anything that tampers with natural ignorance. Ignorance is like a delicate exotic fruit; touch it and the bloom is gone," it never fails to bring down the house. She and Algernon have some of the funniest lines Ever written. Terry Pratchett and Douglas Adams are also a riot, and for sheer laugh-out-loud funny read Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. You would be hard pressed to find funnier characters than Grandma Mazur and Lula. Reply #21. Sep 04 12, 5:38 PM |

"Don Quixote" without any doubt (though it takes 100 pages or so to get going properly). Hasek's "The Good Soldier Schweyk" is the second funniest. I've read nothing else that could hold a candle to these two. Reply #24. Oct 17 12, 8:37 AM |

Just thought of a book I bought my husband for Christmas a couple of years ago. I saw it in the bookstore, started reading it, and ended up laughing so loudly people were staring! It's a little book called "Sh*t My Dad Says." It's hilarious! Reply #34. Nov 30 13, 3:48 PM |

No Bull Selling by Hank Trisler. I had to look it up and discovered he just died in 2012. I highly recommend this book to anyone just for the humor, but if you're in sales, he has a lot of helpful pointers, too, and I say that not as a salesman but as a customer. Stop trying to sell me on features I don't care about. Reply #39. Nov 09 14, 10:30 PM |
