Historical/Medieval Mysteries!
(and throw in a little fantasy, too!)

My favourite books these days are usually factual. I particularly enjoy history books, though you could argue those are as much about interpretation as facts.

True crime is my passion in terms of enjoying the written word. Literature would have to be existentialism. Camus, Sartre, Dostoevsky...

Science fiction. I particularly like dystopias. Ah, the hubris of humanity.

Jane Austen works, with a whiff of romance, comedy and period.

Agatha Christie. This sounds odd, but her crimes are always so elegant and upper class. The floor isn't littered with blood and intestines.

Maybe some sci-fi, such as "Star Trek" books.

History always, particularly British history.

And childhood books such as "Anne of Green Gables" and Emily of New Moon" etc. Still got all those ones, and even read them still once in a while.

Absolutely detest horror and supernatural though.

I agree with Creedy about Horror and supernatural....my preference is for novels based on History, both fact and fiction and well written Detection and Criminal novels.

I like mysteries and good detective stories.....you can't go wrong with Agatha Christie there.
Also true crime, English history (kings and queens in particular), and some horror.

I'd also read a good biography or two.

Used to love sci fi and fantasy books . Sort of grown out of that I think and nowadays it would be historic fact or fiction ( any era -ancient up to WW2, maybe cold war ), sport , especially football ( soccer ) & boxing .......travel writing also .

Mystery and Detective Fiction. My most favorite author is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and my second most favorite is Agatha Christie. I have not tried any other authors in this genre yet. Can anyone suggest some?

Psychological thrillers float my boat!

Oh, and gentle comedy - PG Wodehouse in particular.

Murder mysteries. Prefer Golden Age authors like Agatha Christie, Ngaio Marsh, Margery Allingham, Dorothy L Sayers.

Oh, I should add that series mysteries are my favorites. I love following the characters - often they are more intriguing to me than the actual mystery.
