Subject: Globetrot Trivia 3 - COMPLETE

Posted by: kyleisalive

And we're off again!

If you've never seen our Globetrot Trivia Challenges, we stop off at fifteen different locations and dig a bit deeper with quizzes inspired and tenuously linked to our destinations.

A destination is posted here on this thread. Sometimes that destination will be very specific and sometimes it will be very vague, but either way, we’ll need to have two quizzes queued up before we move on to the next location. When those quizzes are queued, the next one will show. You can, of course, write for any listed destination, even if we move on from it.

So if we use an example: ‘The Sydney Opera House, Sydney'. This means we need to queue two quizzes— anyone can submit them— before we continue on. The quizzes can be about the building itself...or opera houses around the world...or opera...or Sydney...or sailing. As long as you can justifiably link the quiz's subject matter/content to the locations, it’s good!

Once we make our trip around the world, we’ll return to our starting location in some way. Last time, we started in the Sydney Opera House and ended the route in Sydney again.

All you need to do is post when your quiz is submitted, and when there’s two we’ll move along. The quiz doesn't even need to be online yet! Think of it as a teaser for the players. ;)

Distinctive enough to be an international symbol for the nation of Malaysia, Kuala Lampur's Petronas Twin Towers are recognizable from a glance, and it's with that glance that we leave Europe and head for Southeast Asia for our eighth stop in a trip around the globe. For a time, these twin towers were considered some of the tallest skyscrapers in the world, and it may be with that eye that you consider a quiz inspired by the architecture of the city, the build-up of a nation straddling mainland Asia and Borneo, and the melting pot that is Malaysia's diverse capital city.

I submitted the History of Kuala Lumpur. There is a question about the Petronas Towers so I hope that counts.

It's only a hop, skip, and a jump away, but our next stop is the Singapore Zoo, one of the largest zoos of Asia, known for its authentic environments and diverse animal species. Take the time to visit the orangutans or take a night safari with some of the nocturnal animals of Southeast Asia. Heck-- if birds are your thing, maybe the Jurong Bird Park should be your focus for this quiz. No matter which spot you choose, stay true to the zoo.

Better late than never, I have just submitted "Take Me to the Pyramids!" (thanks to Kyle for the great title) in World. This also doubles up as my contribution for Challenge Categories 3.

Our trip through Southeast Asia is now going to feature a stop in the nation of Vietnam! For this tenth stop on the Globetrot Trivia 3 itinerary, make your way to this highly-populated nation of natural splendour and tumultuous history. You could write a quiz about any end of this nation or hone in on one of many unique topics. Maybe you're a fan of war history...or karst landscapes...or French Indochina....or pho soup!

Vietnam is taking me into some history I have never explored - to be honest, that I didn't even know existed. Some serious reading underway - at least I did find pictures for when I have my facts lined up.

I am not familiar too much Vietnamese either LT, I'm trying to decide which city's history to write about: Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi but I fear research will take me a while on this one.

Wow lots of typos there. I meant to say "I'm not too familiar with Vietnamese history either"
