I uploaded Carmen Sandiego to Television this morning. That puts the fifth offering n my queue so I will have to wait a bit to upload banana, which is also written. Reply #23. Oct 02 18, 7:22 AM |

Yay! I am pleased to report that banana has been uploaded to Movies, as one of the permitted five slots opened up in my queue this early evening. That's my fourth set so now I will sit back a bit and cheer on the rest of you. Reply #24. Oct 02 18, 7:24 PM |

In the second "column" the nouns are capitalized. Must we use our choice as a proper noun, or is it permissible to use it in its common sense? (e.g. Sonic vs. sonic) Reply #26. Oct 05 18, 10:02 PM |

The second list is titled Specific Nouns, the first Generic Nouns. I would understand that to mean you must use them as proper nouns, Sonic the Hedgehog, for example, rather than sonic boom. Reply #27. Oct 05 18, 10:35 PM |

Actually, I reread the directions, and we aren't required to use them as proper nouns necessarily. I quote: «The second list has much more specific words that are likely going to have to be directly about that topic (unless you can find an inventive way to make them about something else). This list would include things like Mount Kilimanjaro, Ulysses S. Grant, and barometric pressure. » In short, hooray, no need to re-submit a question. (Whew!) Reply #28. Oct 06 18, 12:41 AM |

In contrast: «The first list will contain generic nouns that might be pretty easy to work into a question in many different ways. These would be words like clock, strawberry, or heart.» Reply #29. Oct 06 18, 12:43 AM |

This game is more or less on the honor system. I do check in and see if players are following the general rules, but I think players can feel free to take a little liberty when it comes to the clues they choose. And especially for a round such as this, Kyle wrote many of the clues so that players didn't have to stick with video games. Reply #31. Oct 06 18, 1:25 AM |

Re: "The second list is titled Specific Nouns, the first Generic Nouns. I would understand that to mean you must use them as proper nouns, Sonic the Hedgehog, for example, rather than sonic boom." I didn't put 'Sonic the Hedgehog' on the list. ;) Sonic could be a restaurant. Reply #32. Oct 06 18, 1:42 AM |

"Elixir" just submitted in Humanities, and "okami" in Animals (though I am not 100% sure it is the best category for my question). For my fourth and final pair, I'll gladly take "avatar" and "Shambhala",.please! Reply #33. Oct 06 18, 7:10 AM |

I'll step in and help you guys out by taking 'Reality' and 'Vespene Gas', the latter one being what I think it a bit of a trickier VG-specific choice. ;) Let's see if we can knock these all out before November. Reply #37. Oct 07 18, 8:48 AM |
