To celebrate Canada Day, our first stop will be the city of Calgary, Alberta, the home of the Calgary Stampede and the largest city in the province (though the capital is Edmonton!). An Olympic host city, Calgary sits between the Rocky Mountains and to the west and the prairies to the east. The city thrived due to an oil boom and, today, acts as a major sporting city, not only for the Stampede, but for the Calgary Flames and the Stampeders (the CFL football team). Reply #1. Ooh that's exciting. You get the honours-- would we like to head east this time, or west? Your call. :) Reply #5. Jul 06 20, 2:34 PM |

Alrighty then! Let's fly down to Los Angeles, California! Who needs the brutal winters, dry air, and blackflies of Alberta when we can take a trip down Hollywood Boulevard or coast along the beaches of Malibu or catch a game at the Staples Center? Los Angeles is a MASSIVE city and hopefully you can fit just a taste of it into a quiz that captures the essence or, at the very least, a small chunk of the glitz and glamor that can be Los Angeles. And it opens the door to our third destination, the archipelago that is the nation of The Philippines. International trips might not be on the table right now, but Globetrot Trivia gives us the opportunity to journey to this diverse Southeast Asian nation. You could be writing about the nation's nineteen languages or Filipino culture; maybe the quiz will be about volcanic eruptions; perhaps you're hankering for a relaxing stay on the beaches of El Nido. No matter what, it's time to take a trip. Reply #10. Jul 14 20, 10:53 AM |

Travel is tough these days, so we're going to backtrack a bit and make a stop in Oceania to explore New Zealand. This may be an extended layover considering the current climate of air travel, but it's a great opportunity to explore a land of beautiful landscapes, rich, exotic history, and exemplary entertainment. Excellent! In that case we're making a return to India because our next destination is the West Bengal city of Kolkata. One of the most heavily-populated cities in the world, the former Calcutta is a cultural capital and major port for the nation. Built in the Lower Ganges Delta, in a section of reclaimed wetland, it's a former capital known for its turbulent history. Oh yeah, and it's the last nation on our trip that wasn't visited in a previous GT Trivia circumnavigation. ;) Reply #18. Jul 29 20, 1:36 PM |
