This thread should go on the Tributes board but please don't worry about it -- we will leave the thread here for a few days to give more people a chance to see it and then I'll move it across. My condolences to everyone on the Devious Demons, I know Pete was much loved and respected as a person and as a team leader, he will be much missed. Reply #4. Mar 02 24, 3:26 PM |

Oh, how sad and shocking. I was just matched with him in "Nemesis" a week or so ago (he won!). He was always so helpful in the Halloween Challenges every year too. All my best to his grieving family and teammates. Reply #11. Mar 02 24, 11:33 PM |

Here, in this other reality in which we all exist, touching every corner of the world, linking with one another in this strange and unearthly level above the corporeal, our lives intermingling, drifting gently in and out as the wind blows the sands on the shore, we form friendships that become more real, more substantial in many cases than those in the harsh reality of our everyday lives. The words on our computer screens become personalities, characters in our minds, images we build up that become more real than those who walk in and out of our daily physical existence. Pete, to me, was a giant of a man who spent his life serving his country in the defence force - enormously tall, towering over his diminutive much loved wife, Dee - a solid, dependable man with whom you always felt comfortable - someone to relax with, laugh with, discuss world affairs with - and always knowing that when he was around in this unreal, but very real world of ours, our reality was always, somehow, that much safer and secure - because of his reassuring yet nebulous presence. But now, in front of my computer screen where I daily live this unreal existence, only feeling really alive when reaching out and meeting so many minds from all over the globe - Pete has gone. He had to go. It was that giant of a man's time. The Lost Post sounds, its mournful notes dying away into silence. And oh, I will miss him. My grief is all too real, and all too very, very tangible.
