Stage 7 of Phoenix Rising's World Tour saw the Gold Crew visiting New Zealand (NZ) and Australia. With NZ not having any snakes and Australia having lots (about 140 land and 32 sea snakes), this seemed like a good crossword theme. The puzzle's grid was also chosen to fit with the topic.
