Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith Trivia Questions

Answer: Nute Gunray

Viceroy Gunray is one of the Separatist leaders killed by Darth Vader on the planet Mustafar. With the Jedi nearly extinct, and the war all but over, Sidious no longer needs the Separatists, and actually wants them out of the picture in order to keep his new Empire strong. Thus, he has dispatched Vader to do the dirty work.

Lott Dod is one of Gunray's counterparts who represents the Trade Federation in the Galactic Senate.

Many of us would have liked to see Jar Jar perish. Alas, he does not. Thankfully, he only has a cameo in this movie.

Ron Gringich is a made-up name. Many believe Lucas incorporates the names of US political leaders as characters in the movies. Newt Gingrich & Ronald Reagan or Ray-gun combine to become Nute Gunray. Republican US Senator Trent Lott and Democratic US Senator Chris Dodd combine to become Galactic Senator Lott Dod. In that same "alleged" tradition I combined Ronald Reagan and Newt Gringich, but with Reagan's first name and Gingrich's (slightly twisted) last name, just for fun.

Answer: Chancellor Palpatine

During a scene when Palpatine actually offers to teach Anakin the ways of the Dark Side, he tells Anakin that the power of the Dark Side "...can save your wife." Anakin has been having visions of Padme dying in child birth. Anakin is visibly shocked to learn that Palpatine knows he is married.

Obi-Wan is actually the second to figure this out. Later in the movie he rhetorically asks Padme if Anakin is the father of her unborn child.

Answer: three

The first is when he and Anakin are about to fight Count Dooku (Christopher Lee). The second is just before he jumps down in the middle of the enemy troops prior to fighting with General Grievous. Finally he takes his robe off to meet with Darth Vader in their climatic final lightsaber fight.

Answer: He had similar ones of his mother's death before she died

In "Attack of the Clones", Anakin had recurring nightmares of his mother's death. It later turns out that these were psychic premonitions of the future through the Force. Fearing this case could be the same, he becomes determined to do anything to stop it from happening.

Answer: Mustafar

Mustafar was a volcanic world whose inhabitants harvested energy from the natural lava flows. Grievous hid the Separatists there by Darth Sidious' orders. Sidious was then able to tell Anakin, turned Darth Vader, where to find and kill the leaders of the Separatists in order to end the Clone Wars.

Answer: He didn't

The vulture or buzz droids got all over Obi-Wan's ship as they approached General Grevious's ship. They tore R4 apart. One landed on Anakin's ship and R2 destroyed it by hitting it in the center eye, however, R4 got destroyed himself.

Answer: A kitchen sink

The object could be seen clearly in the film, as it flew out from a stricken ship just after Anakin and Obi-Wan flew through another explosion, as its path was kept in focus. Its exact nature was not evident (even in a 4x zoom) yet in the DVD commentary for the film both John Knoll and George Lucas identified the object as a kitchen sink.

Answer: Polis Massan

At the Polis Massa Medical Center, Obi-Wan meets up with Bail Organa and Yoda, where the medics known as the Polis Massan attempt to help Padme. Padme is suffering from a choke hold that Anakin administered to her on Mustafar. She survives the choke hold, but emotionally her heart is broken by Anakin's betrayal, and she loses the will to live.

Answer: 66

After Palpatine, or Darth Sidious, convinced Anakin to become his apprentice, he was seen (often in hologram form) contacting his Clone commanders and telling them to 'execute order 66'. The clones then turned and either killed, or attempted to kill the Jedi who were with them at the time. The only Jedi that we saw escaping these attempts were Obi-wan and Yoda (voice of Frank Oz).

Answer: Yoda

Yoda tried to kill Darth Sidious in an effort to destroy the Sith. This duel ended in a stalemate. Mace Windu also found himself battling Darth Sidious one on one earlier in the movie after the three Jedi he was with were quickly slayed.

Answer: Anakin Skywalker

Anakin figures this out in the same scene that Palpatine tells Anakin he knows Anakin is married. In this scene, Palpatine actually offers to teach Anakin the ways of the Dark Side. Given this, Palpatine's knowledge of the Force, as well as his knowledge of Sith history, Anakin finally figures it all out. (Palpatine has been grooming Anakin for quite some time.) Anakin informs Mace Windu, who tries to arrest the Chancellor.

Answer: Christopher Lee

Lee, a native of London, England reprised his role of Count Dooku. Count Dooku was holding Chancellor Palpatine hostage and was seen being confronted by Obi-Wan and Anakin. Right before he fought with them, he mentioned that he had looked forward to killing them. Anakin mentioned to Count Dooku that his powers had doubled since he last saw him. Count Dooku simply responded that it meant Anakin had twice the pride but would fall even harder. Count Dooku managed to knock out Obi-Wan in the fight but Anakin got the upper hand and killed Count Dooku. Anakin mentioned to Chancellor Palpatine that he should not have killed Count Dooku since that was not the Jedi way. Lee guest starred on the TV shows, "The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles", "Charlie's Angels" and "Space: 1999".

Answer: Utapau

Utapau was a barren world with some rather bland, brown surface features (it looked like a pale green from space). The planet was actually riddled with large sinkholes, which the natives built their cities in, to protect themselves from the harsh winds on the surface. There were two native races to Utapau, the Pau'ans, the tall, thin, grey-skinned aliens that oversaw the politics of Utapau, while the short and stocky Utai were the labor force.

Grievous attempted to flee the Battle of Coruscant, but was tracked by two Null Commandos (Jaing and Kom'rk) to Utapau. Grievous took over the city and intimidated the locals into not calling for help. Obi-Wan Kenobi headed for Utapau with Commander Cody's forces behind him. The plan was to assault the city if/when Kenobi found Grievous. Obi-Wan did find the droid general, and a lightsaber fight/chase ensued. Grievous attempted to escape in his personal starfighter, but was killed by Obi-Wan on the private landing pad. Obi-Wan would later return here and use Grievous' personal ship to escape Utapau after Order 66 was given.

There were only six Null commandos in the Grand Army of the Republic. They were the original test clones that came before the Alpha ARC commandos. The Kamonians had intended to terminate the Nulls, as they were a 'failure' in the eyes of the Kaminoans, who only valued perfection. Kal Skirata, a Mandolorian, stepped in and prevented their termination, and took it upon himself to train them. They were said to be even more unpredictable than the normal ARCs.

Answer: All of These

Obi-Wan was shocked to see his protege not only slaying younglings but also turning to the dark side, as Darth Vader. Yoda seemed to already know, as he saw that the younglings were killed by light saber.

Answer: China

When designing the landscape for the Wookiee homeworld, it was apparently decided that some real scenery needed to be incorporated, to make the planet more special. A member of the team that made "Revenge of the Sith" was consequently sent out to China to take some photographs. This information was revealed in the DVD commentary to "Revenge of the Sith", during the first shots of Kashyyyk.

Answer: spying on Palpatine

The Jedi asked Anakin to spy on Palpatine because they didn't trust him. Based on the movie, the other Jedi never knew about Padme and Anakin. Killing off the Jedi Knights and attacking the Jedi Temple was a task Chancellor Palpatine gave to Anakin when Anakin swore to be his Apprentice and became Darth Vader.

Answer: Chewbacca

After surviving the Clone attempt to kill him, Yoda entered a spaceship, saying goodbye to the two wookiees who were assisting him. Eventually he headed into self-imposed exile on Dagobah, where Luke would find him in Episode V, 'The Empire Strikes Back'. Chewbacca, as most fans will not need to be told, was the wookiee we first met in the company of Han Solo, captain of the Millenium Falcon. He was played by Peter Mayhew in all 4 movies.

Answer: The Battle of Coruscant

General Grievous made a bold move to attack Coruscant (the capital of the Republic) and "capture" Palpatine (Darth Sidious). Palpatine was not really in danger since he was with his apprentice, Count Dooku (aka Darth Tyranus).

Answer: Darth Sidious, a.k.a. Chancellor Palpatine

Mace and three other members of the Jedi Council have tried to arrest Palpatine, now exposed as Darth Sidious, for masterminding the Clone Wars. Palpatine kills the other three Jedi, but Mace manages to disarm him. At this point Anakin shows up. Windu has decided to kill Palpatine because Palpatine controls the Senate, and will never be convicted of treason. Anakin needs Palpatine to help him learn the ways of the Dark Side in order to save Padme from dying in child birth. He attempts to stop Master Windu and, in the process, cuts off Windu's hand. However, it is Palpatine who ultimately kills Mace, using the Force to shoot electricity (Force Lightning) from his finger tips, while Anakin sheepishly watches.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU SEND A CORRECTION NOTE:
Darth Sidious does kill Mace Windu. The answer does NOT say he DID or did NOT have help. If you are among those that believe Anakin helped him by chopping off Windu's hand, this is the correct answer because Sidious ultimately performs the act. If you believe Sidious was playing possum, and did not need Anakin's help, this answer is still correct. If you are among those who think Anakin killed Palpatine because he needed him to save Padme, you misunderstood what your friends were telling you and need to actually watch the movie before sending a correction. Bottom line: Whatever Anakin's intentions, whether Sidious needed Anakin or not, Sidious killed Windu. The answer is correct for all scenarios.

Answer: he wants to save Padme from dying

Yes, he does it all for love. He is getting premonition dreams that Padme is going to die in childbirth and he wants to do everything he can to prevent that. He can't live without his wife, Padme. To tempt him to the Dark Side, Chancellor Palpatine tells Anakin that only he can teach Anakin how to save Padme. In the end, the premonition comes true and it turns out that Anakin is the cause of Padme's death.

Answer: Bruce Spence

Spence, born in 1945 in Auckland, New Zealand, was cast as Tion Medon in "Star Wars: Episode III-Revenge of the Sith". Tion was seen witnessing Obi-Wan coming to the sanctuary where he lived and he asked him what brought him there. Obi-Wan stated that he was there due to the war so Tion mentioned there was no war there unless Obi-Wan brought it with him. Obi-Wan asked Tion for some fuel and to also use the city resources to see if he could track down General Grievous. Tion mentioned to Obi-Wan that General Grievous was in the sanctuary and therefore he and his people were being held hostage by him. Obi-Wan advised Tion that he and his people take shelter. Spence had guest starring stints on the TV series', "City Homicide", "Short Cuts" and "Something in the Air".

Answer: During his fight with Mace Windu

After Grievous was defeated, the Jedi learned that the Supreme Chancellor was actually the Sith Lord controlling the events of the Clone Wars. Mace Windu, along with Kit Fisto, Agen Kolar, Saesee Tiin, four Jedi Masters who sat on the High Council, attempted to arrest the Chancellor. Three of the Jedi were defeated instantly, resulting in a duel between Mace Windu and Darth Sidious. There was a quick lightsaber duel, but Mace Windu eventually had the Dark Lord backed up against the frame of the massive broken window. Sidious, without his lightsaber, attempted to use Force Lightning on Windu, but it was deflected back, slowly deforming the Dark Lord. Windu was about the end Sidious' life, but Anakin jumped in and severed Windu's lightsaber hand. With no way to defend against attacks, Sidious was finally able to use his lightning to send Windu flying out of the office to fall to his death.

Answer: Darth Plagueis

While Senator Palpatine was trying to win over Anakin, to turn him to the dark side, he used Anakin's fear of Padme dying in childbirth to tell him the story of Darth Plagueis who could save people from dying. Ironically, Darth Plagueis was killed by his own apprentice.

Answer: Ki-Adi-Mundi

Obi-Wan was the first Jedi seen being fired at by the clones on Utapau, but of course he survived the assualt. So the first death to be seen after Order 66 was the Cerean Jedi Ki-Adi-Mundi's. He could be identified by his extended forehead and white beard.

Anakin goes to Yoda to ask for advice concerning his dream about someone close to him. "Premonitions, premonitions." Yoda tells Anakin that the path to the dark side of the force hems upon selfishness, and in this case - the selfishness of not letting someone go. "We should rejoice for those who enter the force." "Mourn them not."
