Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. "Bosom Buddies" (TV, 1980) to "Splash" (Film, 1984)

Answer: Tom Hanks

On "Bosom Buddies", Hanks shared billing with Peter Scolari. Scolari would go on to star as the TV producer, Michael Harris, on "Newhart" (1984-1990).
2. "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" (TV, 1990) to "Bad Boys" (Film, 1995)

Answer: Will Smith

Smith began as a recording artist. Story goes that financial troubles got his manager, Quincy Jones, to develop the TV character for NBC.
3. "ER" (TV, 1994) to "From Dusk Till Dawn" (Film, 1996)

Answer: George Clooney

Clooney is the nephew of 1950s legendary pop singer and actress Rosemary Clooney.
Clooney's first few roles in Hollywood were, surprising to me, horror flicks. He played Seth Gecko in "From Dusk Till Dawn". He also had appearances in "Return to Horror High" (1987) and "Return of the Killer Tomatoes" (1988).
4. "Leprechaun" (Film, 1993) to "Friends" (TV, 1994)

Answer: Jennifer Aniston

IMDB has "Leprechaun" as Aniston's first credited film appearance. However, they mention an uncredited appearance as a background extra in a McDonalds restaurant in the 1988 film "Mac and Me".
5. "Cheers" (TV, 1985) to "White Men Can't Jump" (Film, 1992)

Answer: Woody Harrelson

Woody also had a role in the 1986 football flick "Wildcats". Goldie Hawn stars as the unlikely head football coach of a struggling, inner-city high school team. Harrelson's character, Krushinski, plays backup quarterback and slot receiver.
6. "Cheers" (TV, 1982) to "Three Men and a Baby" (Film, 1987)

Answer: Ted Danson

The other two men in the hit 1987 film were Steve Guttenberg ("Police Academy" films) and Tom Selleck ("Magnum PI').
7. "The Untouchables" (Film, 1987) to "Yellowstone" (TV, 2018)

Answer: Kevin Costner

Many see Costner as the 'King of the Baseball Movies' (including "Bull Durham" (1988), "Field of Dreams" (1989), and "For Love of the Game" (1999)). His first movie, however, saw him as a two-gun-toting cowboy in "Silverado" in 1985.
8. "Apocalypse Now" (Film, 1979) to "Pee Wee's Playhouse" (TV, 1986)

Answer: Laurence Fishburne

This one is my favorite if for nothing other than the juxtaposition. Legend has it that Fishburne lied about his age- he was only fourteen- to get the role of Tyrone "Mr. Clean" Miller in "Apocalypse Now". He would then go on to television to play Cowboy Curtis on "Pee Wee's Playhouse".
9. "St. Elsewhere" (TV, 1982) to "Glory" (Film, 1989)

Answer: Denzel Washington

Washington's first film was the 1981 comedy, "Carbon Copy". However, it was his portrayal of an escaped slave named Private Silas Trip in "Glory" that launched his career in film.
10. "Doubt" (Film, 2008) to "How to Get Away with Murder" (TV, 2014)

Answer: Viola Davis

Davis had an impressive film debut. With roughly ten minutes of screen time opposite Meryl Streep, her gripping performance earned her an Oscar nod for Best Supporting Actress.
