"The Swing" by Robert Louis Stevenson Quiz
One of my favorite books as a child was "A Child's Garden of Verses" and I still can recite some of the poems. Do you know "The Swing" as well as I do?
Robert Louis Stevenson was born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1850. He was a frail child who was frequently bedridden and taught by tutors. This did not stop him from writing stories from a young age. Due to his and his father's poor health, the family often traveled to warmer climates, and Stevenson continued to travel as an adult. He eventually became a travel writer and novelist. His novels include "Kidnapped", "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" and "Kidnapped". "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" has been adapted as a play or movie at least 120 times. Stevenson died in 1894 at age 44 in Samoa.
"A Child's Garden of Verses" is a collection of poems published in 1885. Other poems in the book include "From a Railway Carriage", "The Land of Counterpane" and "The Lamplighter".
