"The Tempest" was written by Shakespeare about 1610/1611. The overthrown duke of Milan and magician, Prospero, releases a storm and a group of people are stranded on an island. He seeks revenge against his treacherous brother, who is on board. This is where Prospero, his daughter Miranda, the (sometimes invisible) spirit Ariel and servant Caliban live.
The latter two were more or less forced to work for Prospero. At the end, with the magical help of Ariel, all ends well, and the duke is able to return to Milan, Miranda marries one of the shipwrecked men and both Caliban and Ariel are set free. Ariel celebrates his new freedom with a song.
"Where the bee sucks, there suck I" (Act V, Scene I) is Ariel's last song. I added some of the spoken words, because the song is not that long.
