"The Karate Kid" starred Ralph Maccio as Daniel LaRusso in the 1984 blockbuster. The film had Daniel being bullied by a group of boys led by Johnny Lawrence. Both Daniel and Johnny were in different karate schools and they met up in the All Valley's Under 18 Karate championship at the film's climax.

The television show "Cobra Kai", a sequel to the movie series, flipped the script and made Daniel appear to be the villain of the story.

The term "lost boys" was a reference to the Peter Pan story where boys never grow up. Similarly, the villains in "The Lost Boys" are young men who are a vampires who also never age. The 1987 movie was set in Santa Clara, California. The story had two teens, Michael and Sam, moving to Santa Clara and discovering the evil nature of some of the locals including a vampire pack led by David, played by Kiefer Sutherland.

If I listed the movies "Rocky" or "Rambo", it would have been easier but Sylvester Stallone released a variety of movies in the 1980's. "Stayin' Alive", a sequel to "Saturday Night Fever", had John Travolta's character passing Stallone while walking down the street. "Rhinestone" was a 1984 musical that had Stallone singing and co-starring with country music legend, Dolly Parton. "Cobra" (1986) was back to Stallone's typical role as an action star where he portrayed a police officer chasing down a dangerous group called the New Order.

Rusty Griswold, the son of Clark Griswold, was played by different actors in each of the "Vacation" movies. In "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" in 1989, Rusty was played by Johnny Galicki at the age of fourteen in one of Johnny's earliest roles on film.

He later became a lead actor on the CBS comedy "The Big Bang Theory" as Leonard Hofstadter. "Christmas Vacation" also starred Randy Quaid as Cousin Eddie, Chevy Chase as Clark Griswold, and John Randolph as Clark Griswold Sr.
