Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Wade Wilson, in an attempt to join the Avengers, headed to Earth-616. He ended up getting turned away by who of these after an interview?

Answer: Happy Hogan

Wade Wilson, back to fulfill Marvel Studios' ask for another movie in the "Deadpool" franchise, makes good on the offer and heads to North Dakota to dig up Wolverine who, though he may have died in some other movie, shouldn't actually be dead -- that's not how regenerative healing works. The world is at stake. Unfortunately, the Wolverine we know is, in fact dead. Deadpool only finds the adamantium skeleton of the former X-Man in the forest grave.

It's in the woods here where Deadpool is found by the Time Variance Authority and a fight ensues -- one that has Deadpool using Wolverine's bones to kill his attackers (to the tune of N*Sync's "Bye Bye Bye").

How it came to this is a story that actually began on March 14, 2018 on Earth-616 in the Sacred Timeline, when Wade Wilson reached out to Stark Tower, and Happy Hogan, in an effort to join the Avengers. Unfortunately, as he had very little experience actually working on a team (especially considering most of X-Force died), it wasn't a viable option. It also didn't help that he couldn't stop insulting Hogan.
2. Who, according to Mr. Paradox, was the Anchor Being of Earth-10005?

Answer: Wolverine

Six years after his ill-fated interview, back in his home universe on Earth-10005, Wade was working for a used car dealership, no longer pursuing the dream of being Deadpool. He was treated to a surprise party for his birthday, reuniting with his friends and acquaintances no matter how deep-cut, and it had him speaking to his ex, Vanessa, who'd awkwardly started seeing someone else. He expressed his appreciation and love for everyone in the room, but as he blew out the candle, a knock was heard at the door. Wade answered to find men from the TVA outside, and while he joked that they must've been strippers for the party, he was pulled back through one of their portals -- his partygoers being left nonethewiser.

Wade would wake up in a boardroom in the Time Variance Authority offices seated at a desk across from Mr. Paradox who, after explaining the purpose of their work, indicated that they simply needed to reach out to him for his 'special' qualities. In protecting the Sacred Timeline, Deadpool could be essential. Mr. Paradox presented him with some video footage of the Avengers, indicating that they'd been surveilling him for a while and, finally, believed he was ready to partake in some Avenger-like work. He would, however, need to depart from his own universe and leave it all behind to do so.

After suiting up in a brand-new, improved Deadpool outfit, most of which involved getting felt up by the TVA tailor, Wade emerged into the offices with a newfound pep in his step, ready to fight. Mr. Paradox had to bring Wade down to the ground at this point. While Wade wanted to go back to tell his friends that their lives were about to get an upgrade, Mr. Paradox indicated that there would be no Earth-10005 to return to; it'd lost its Anchor Being, an entity of such vital importance that when they die, their world withers out of existence. He's not the Anchor Being either, so it's not as easy as sending him home. It was actually Logan, the Wolverine.
3. Wade manages to locate a version of Logan in one of many universes that he's willing to bring to the TVA. What colour outfit does he turn out to be wearing?

Answer: Yellow

Mr. Paradox, finding Wade to be put off by his circumstances, explained in clear enough terms that while most universes would have a couple thousand years to decay in the event that an Anchor Being was destroyed, he was tasked with seeing to the destruction of Earth-10005 and its affiliated universe, pruning it to protect the Sacred Timeline even if the TVA stopped doing that under their new protocol. As Mr. Paradox's men fired up the Time Ripper to accelerate this process, he gave Wade two options. Either he could return to his friends and cease to exist in three days or he could join the Sacred Timeline to make a difference.

Wade chose neither. Instead, he stole Mr. Paradox's TemPad, teleported to Wolverine's grave on Earth-10005, found the skeleton, and fought the TVA's goons. Realizing he needs a new Logan -- a live one -- who can be his Anchor Being, he sets off on a montage through other universes looking for the perfect candidate. It's an adventure through the multiverse that results in a lot of pain and graphic violence.

Fortunately, Wade stumbles on a Logan seated at a bar, drinking his sorrows away, and decides that he's good enough, especially since most of the others he'd encountered were hostile or in peril. He forces Logan to come along at gunpoint, but it doesn't much matter; Logan drinks enough to pass out. Funnily enough, it happens to be a Logan who's wearing everyday clothes over his yellow X-Men costume. When Wade drags him through the portal to the TVA, presenting him to Mr. Paradox, he feels that he's done the right thing.

He hasn't. Mr. Paradox, now nursing a broken nose, informs Wade that he can't simply replace an Anchor Being. And worse, he happened to pick a Wolverine who let down his entire world; he's beyond forgiveness. Wade prepares to lash out over Mr. Paradox's apparent lack of concern for Earth-10005, realizing that perhaps he may not be working with the oversight of the rest of the TVA, but instead, he gets pruned with a Time Stick. Logan soon follows, getting dissolved into dust. They can head to the trash heap.
4. According to Johnny Storm, people in the Void are annihilated by what multiversal being?

Answer: Alioth

Wade and Logan don't get destroyed altogether. Instead, they awaken in a wasteland of detritus where Logan, already angry, beings tearing into Wade for bringing him into this mess. The two, both regenerating with each massive attack, get to battling aggressively (which, as Deadpool acknowledges, may very well be what the fans came along for in the first place). Neither of them really gets the upper hand, especially since both of them have adamantium weapons, but they finally reach an agreement. Wade informs Logan that there's a way to fix everything -- Mr. Paradox said so. They have the power to end his universe, but they also have the power to change Logan's.

The pair are interrupted by the unexpected arrival of a cloaked hero and a band of Mad Max-style vehicles and quickly surrounded. Fortunately, Wade has an idea of who they are; the cloaked figure specifically is none other than Johnny Storm, from another universe's Fantastic Four (though Deadpool originally mistakes him for Captain America). Logan is able to behead an alternate version of Sabretooth, but ultimately, they're captured by Pyro and Toad, who use a massive magnet to draw in the two adamantium-infused heroes and nab a power-drained Human Torch.

With that, they're brought across the wasteland to the enemy leader, Cassandra. Along the way, Johnny informs them that they're all currently in the Void, what Reed Richards once referred to as a metaphysical junkyard, kind of like a purgatory. Useless things go there to be annihilated, and that's done by Alioth, a massive multiversal entity. It's a name Wade recognizes from "Loki" Season One, Episode Five, fortunately. Johnny continues to tell them that some remain alive, living out in the borderlands, but everyone else works for Cassandra.

The prisoners finally reach their destination -- an abandoned Giant-Man costume -- and Cassandra comes forth to greet them.
5. Cassandra Nova reveals herself to be related to who of these?

Answer: Charles Xavier

Cassandra Nova steps forward from her Giant-Man base to introduce herself and wastes no time in revealing that she knew of Logan's mentor and leader, Charles Xavier, as they both shared a womb together (though she did attempt to kill him). She claims to have a good feeling about their arrival, especially since Wade takes the opportunity to liken himself to Cassandra by lying about Johnny's impression of her. It backfires a bit, however, when she decides to remove the Human Torch's skin with a wave of her hand, killing him near-instantly.

Cassandra indicates that Alioth is hungry as she gazes out across the wasteland, but Logan is concerned with her instead, especially since she possesses a wheelchair from another universe's Charles Xavier. As it turns out, she's been in the Void for a long time, having been sent there by the TVA as an infant. She explains that it's like a paradise; she can lord over the Void and use her powers at will. She promptly sends Logan into the soil and drags him through it and then she invades Wade's mind, forcing him to recount his personal struggle with self-worth and the failings of his life, worsening them by reshaping Vanessa's words.

Logan and Wade are both able to attack Cassandra, but she proves just as resilient as they are. She brushes them off and sics Alioth on them, but Logan is able to hijack a rocket, blasting them off across the landscape. The pair of them agree they need to get back to Dr. Paradox and the TVA. To do that, they'll have to locate the people in the borderlands that Johnny spoke about.

The pair find a diner and get into details about their lives and their worlds, but they get on their way soon after. It's on the trail, following an old railway track, that they come across something unexpected. A dog. In a Deadpool suit. Dogpool. And she's not alone.
6. Who is *NOT* amongst the surviving superheroes that Wade and Logan meet in the borderlands?

Answer: Nightcrawler

As soon as Wade and Logan stumble upon who Wade refers to as 'Dogpool', they're also met by a Variant referring to himself as 'Nicepool', who kindly welcomes them to the Void and suggests they're on the right path if they're looking for survivors out in the borderlands. He recommends that they watch out for the Deadpool Corps. -- they're bad guys, and they'll chop them up across the Void. Since they're about twelve miles away from the survivor camp, Nicepool offers them a ride in his Honda Odyssey; it's waiting out in a cornfield. They part ways amicably, even if Wade wants to keep the dog.

Wade tries to keep conversation light as they drive through the field and into the desert and, eventually, into the woods, but the chat gets violent, mainly because he inadvertently lets it slip that he lied about the TVA definitively being able to fix Logan's world as well. He explains that he needs Logan, but the two clash, letting their argument build into another bloody brawl in and out of the Odyssey... that takes them through the night.

It's morning when someone finds them, gets into the driver's seat of their busted vehicle, and drives the unconscious pair to a hideaway. Upon awakening, they're treated to a dramatic entrance as Elektra Natchios, Blade, Remy LeBeau (Gambit), and X-23, Laura, who Logan died trying to protect in Wade's universe. The TVA sent them all there, their universes having been prepared to die. Wade tries to convince the lot of them to work together. If they can get back into Cassandra's lair, they can find a way out, and if they can get a leg up by blocking her psychic powers, then they can win. It might just work.
7. Which of these can, allegedly, block Cassandra's attacks?

Answer: A helmet

Wade fishes around for options for extra help amongst the borderland survivors and comes up with very little when the others inform him that not only did Cassandra kill Magneto, but she melted down his helmet. Fortunately though, Juggernaut also wields a helmet capable of blocking psychic attacks -- even Charles Xavier's. Elektra and Blade realize that Wade and Logan could be the ticket to their legacy, and with that, the others are in. They have a plan.

That evening, Laura finds Logan out by the fire drinking Gambit's liquor and tries to speak some sense into him. In her universe, Logan saved her life, and across the multiverse, Wolverine saved many children. Even if the Logan sitting with her is the worst of the Wolverines, and even if he never wanted to be part of the X-Men... at least not outwardly... he can finally be the hero he's capable of. He comments that he's the wrong guy for the job, but she claims he always was.

In the TVA, Mr. Paradox receives a call from Pyro, one of Cassandra's underlings, on his TemPad. Pyro spills the news: Wade and Logan got away. Alioth never destroyed them and now they're on the loose. Worse, the survivors found them. Paradox reiterates that the Time Ripper is hours from completion; they only have so much time. He agrees to Pyro's price to take out Cassandra. He just needs to know his plan can succeed.

When morning finally arrives, Elektra take the wheel and drives the gang across the wasteland. As they near the Giant-Man lair, Blade takes Punisher's AT4 and fires a rocket directly at the gate, blasting through, letting themselves out of the vehicle and into the crosshairs of Cassandra's men, and landing their moody entrance moment. Knowing that they may not make it out alive, the others insist to Wade and Logan that they'll get their package and each of them will get their ending.

And the battle ensues.
8. Cassandra sends Wade and Logan out of the Void using which of these?

Answer: Sling Ring

While the gang battles in Cassandra's courtyard, Wade and Logan manage to get inside the lair to find her seated, drinking a cup of tea. She claims that she was okay with them escaping, but she's quite confused about their returning; their only options shall be death or enslavement. Cassandra swiftly knocks out Wade and gives Logan the chance to talk, though she brings him to his knees to do so. Creeping her way into his mind, she finds that his inner self is hiding, mainly from the people in his life, but also from the X-Men and everyone he let down or lost. Cassandra offers him the chance to find retribution in the Void, reclaiming his strength and his self-worth to be the man Charles thought he was.

Cassandra, stuck in Logan's mind, doesn't realize when X-23 is able to get Juggernaut's helmet, toss it up to Wade, and have it placed on her head. She's pulled from Logan's inner thoughts and her powers are neutralized while both of the guys fight over who gets to kill her. Unfortunately, neither gets the chance because Pyro comes in and shoots her several times, enacting his own retribution and launching into a speech. Logan knocks him out -- no speech needed.

The catch is that if Cassandra dies outright, they can't use her. Logan convinces Wade that it's in their best interest to test their luck by taking the helmet off her head so she can heal and fix the problem, and before he does, Logan tells their foe that he's doing it because Charles would have wanted him to; he loved him, and he would have done his best to try and save her. He would have torn a hole in the universe to bring her home.

As recompense, Cassandra reveals to the others that at one time, a fledgeling magician passed through the void. She killed him, but he left a trinket behind when he died, what appears to be a Sling Ring. With it, she opens a portal and gives the pair until Alioth arrives to jump through -- a total of about four seconds. While the duo passes through the rip in space and time, the others stand victorious below.

And Wade and Logan land on Earth-10005, interrupting Wade's buddy, Peter, while he's trying to sell a used car.

Back in the Void, Cassandra chastises Pyro for shooting her several times. He explains that he was working under Mr. Paradox's orders on the condition that he would be able to leave the Void and, naturally, Cassandra is taken aback by this since the TVA assured her that they had an agreement.
9. According to the other Deadpool Variants, every Deadpool has which of these?

Answer: A Peter

Wade and Logan make it to the TVA's outpost in a neighbourhood metro station just in time to catch Mr. Paradox who, as it seems, is on the precipice of starting the Time Ripper. The problem is that Cassandra Nova, having received info about the plot against her, also arrives at the same time, using the Sling Ring to grant passage to Earth-10005 right behind the duo. She kills Pyro in short order before emerging to take root in Paradox's mind, determining a use for the Time Ripper and getting her own idea. While the boys plan to destroy it to save Earth-10005, she plans to keep using it, first to destroy this universe, then the next, then the next, and on and on until all that's left is the Void. While she drags Paradox into the subway to make use of the device, she indicates that she has help coming as well.

In the TVA, Hunter B-15 is alerted of the anomaly on Earth-10005; the unsanctioned Time Ripper needs to be stopped.

As Wade and Logan watch on from the street outside, getting to their feet after Cassandra blasts them away, they watch as first Dogpool, then Nicepool, both arrive from beyond the portal. The problem is that they're just the first to come through. They're followed by another hundred Deadpools, all from the Void, all bloodthirsty and part of Cassandra's Deadpool Corps. Wade steps forward to speak as Deadpool Prime and beg them to stop with the whole Multiverse thing -- it's been miss after miss after miss -- but the others don't care. They're there to stand in the way between them and Cassandra. The other Deadpools open fire and Wade uses Nicepool as a human shield until they can hide. He doesn't know Nicepool has no regenerative capabilities though, so it's quite fatal, especially when his head explodes. It's a good thing, Wade figures, that he can still remember Nicepool through his gold-plated guns and through Dogpool.

Better-armed, Deadpool and Wolverine tear into the mob... even if that means Logan taking most of the fight for himself. The problem is that once the pair break through the crowd job-well-done, it appears that Nicepool was the only Deadpool not to have regenerative powers. The others start mending almost immediately. And it would mean another fight too if it weren't for Peter who, ceremoniously, arrives on a bike clad in a spare Deadpool outfit. All the other Deadpools celebrate his arrival, claiming that every Deadpool has a Peter. It's the perfect distraction to let the guys head into the metro unimpeded.
10. Wade and Logan are only able to stop the Time Ripper by doing which of these?

Answer: Combining their efforts

Cassandra sets herself in front of the Time Ripper and harnesses its power just as Wade and Logan make it into the metro and, to their surprise, Paradox needs their help stopping her from shredding the fabric of time (go figure). Unfortunately, Paradox doesn't completely know how to shut it down, at least not safely. Because it's powered by twin matter and anti-matter feeds they could short circuit those by bridging the feeds before they reach the Time Ripper. The problem is that the person who does that would be annihilated. No amount of regeneration would stop them from being atomized.

Wade and Logan, heading down into the tunnels, argue over who should be the one to sacrifice themselves for the Time Ripper. Though Wade wants to do it, if only out of thanks for dragging Logan into the mess, Logan reminds him he has a life to go back to. Logan nearly makes it into the chamber to bridge the feeds, but Wade sneaks in first, locking the door behind him to make the sacrifice. As Wade breaks through one of the feeds, Cassandra is nonethewiser upstairs.

As the timeline's integrity begins to wane, shrinking down to its final thread of integrity, Logan finally breaks through, grabbing Wade's arm and completing the circuit by his claws' length. As the power rips through them, it's only through their combined effort that they're able to withstand the energy. Upstairs, Cassandra is powerless to stop the power from coursing through, and for all of her strength and effort, she's obliterated instead.

Hunter B-15 arrives on the scene in the aftermath of the explosion to find Paradox full of excuses and feigned remorse. He commends Deadpool and Wolverine for the heroes they were, but he doesn't realize that they managed to survive the blast. The two waltz into the room dramatically, much to Paradox's dismay, but B-15 has him taken back to the TVA and imprisoned. In the meantime, Peter, now going by 'Peterpool', vouches for Wade, reminding the guards that he's from Earth-10005. As much as B-15 suggests they did an awful thing by risking the multiverse bringing an Omega-level mutant into 10005, she shows them the consequence on her TemPad. Whatever they did allowed their universe to regenerate. She suggests they rest up. Their work is likely just getting started.

Before B-15 departs, Wade asks if he can ask a couple favours. First, he asks if she can look into some people in the Void who they'd like to see sent home to their proper universes. Second, he hopes she can fix Logan's universe. She offers to help with the former, but she can't change the past for the latter. There's nothing she can fix for him. Wade and Logan decide to get some shawarma to celebrate. They're fortunate that Dogpool comes back.

Before Logan departs, Wade offers him an opportunity to stay with him on Earth-10005. Soon, they're able to get together with all of Wade's friends. Even X-23 is able to stay with. At the dinner table, Logan tells Wade to chat with Vanessa. Turns out, she's pretty thrilled that he saved the universe for her.
