2. What is another name for the "Garden of God", according to Christians?

Answer: Garden of Eden

In the book of Genesis, the Garden of Eden was the place where Adam and Eve lived. 3. What language do historians believe Jesus Christ spoke?

Answer: Aramaic

Aramaic was the language spoken in Judea when Jesus Christ lived. The Galilean Aramaic was a little different from the Aramaic of Jerusalem. Aramaic developed when the Jews were in captivity in Babylon, as they spoke Hebrew before that time. Jesus also spoke Greek, as evidenced in some dialogues in the New Testament, but most of his teachings and conversations were in Aramaic.

When he is on the cross and he says, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me" (Matthew 27:46), he speaks in Aramaic ("Eloi Eloi, lama sabachtani").

4. Which Pope excommunicated Martin Luther in 1520? (Hint: Does this Pope have a roar in him?)

Answer: Leo X

Pope Leo X was born Giovanni de Medici in 1475 and because of his father's considerable influence within the church, was able to be appointed as a Cardinal-deacon of Sta. Maria in Dominica in 1498. In March 1513 he was elected to the Papal Throne as the first non-priest Pope, which meant he was elected Pope on the ninth of March, was ordained a priest on the 15th of March, consecrated as a bishop on the 17th of March and crowned as Pope on the 19th of March.

He was a great patron of the arts and spent a large portion of the Vatican's wealth not only on extensive building projects but also on commissioning works, such as paintings, statues and murals by assorted artisans, most notably Raphael.

The papal Bull "Decet Romanum Pontificem", issued on the 3rd January 1521, accused Martin Luther, and all of his followers, of heresy, and hence they were excommunicated.

5. Moab, the biblical region that was home to Ruth, is a mountainous stretch of land adjacent to the Dead Sea in which modern day country?

Answer: Jordan

As well as being the home of Ruth, one of only two women to have books of the authorized King James version of the Bible named after her (Esther being the other) Moab, according to the book of Numbers was where the Lord spoke about the Israelites to Moses. Mount Nebo in Moab is believed to have been the place where Moses, aged 120 died.

The land that was Moab is situated in Jordan to the east of the Dead Sea; it is comprised of steep treeless plateaus and has an abundance of deep ravines and gorges, stone circles and monoliths.

The Jordanian town of Dhiban, which was the capital of Moab, is roughly seventy kilometers from the Jordanian capital Aamman. Since the 1950s Dhiban has been largely populated by the army, agricultural workers and government research agencies.

7. What do the Tent of Convocation in the Old Testament Book of Exodus, a tent erected for a Christian crusade or camp meeting, and a fixed box in some Christian churches where the Blessed Sacrament is reserved have in common?

Answer: tabernacle

The noun "tabernacle" describes the portable tent which the Israelites used as a sanctuary in the Wilderness (Exodus 25-31 and 35-40). It contained the Ark of the Covenant. The term derives from the Latin "tabernaculum" meaning tent. In Methodism, tabernacle refers to the tent in which camp meetings, revivals and Eucharist are celebrated.

The Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, Utah, is a well-known place of worship. The Tabernacle Chapel in Cardiff, Wales, is a Baptist church. The Dime Tabernacle in Berrien Springs, Michigan, is a Seventh-day Adventist church.

In Eastern Orthodox, Roman Catholic, Anglican (Episcopal) and some Lutheran churches, there is a fixed container for the Reserved Sacrament (the consecrated bread and wine), usually located near the altar.

The elements in the tabernacle may be used for the communion of the sick or for services of adoration.

9. Interesting water flows! Genesis 2:10-14 lists four rivers flowing out of the Garden of Eden. Which of the following is one of them?

Answer: Euphrates

According to Scripture, a river flowed from Eden to water "every tree pleasing to sight and good for life; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil." After the major river watered Eden, it separated into four rivers called the Phison (Pison), Gihon, Hiddekel and the Euphrates.

Today, the area between Tigris and Euphrates rivers is called "The Cradle of Civilization" due to the sub-tropical climate conducive to agriculture and the advancement of societies.
