Dennis Bergkamp began his football career with his hometown team Ajax. He came through the club's youth system, and made his first team debut aged 17 in a match against Roda JC. His club manager at the time was the legendary Johan Cruyff.
2. As well as a Dutch championship medal in 1990, Dennis Bergkamp won a number of cup competition medals between 1986 and 1993. Which of the following competitions did he NOT claim a winners medal in during this period?

Answer: European Champions League

During his Ajax career, Bergkamp won two Dutch Cups, the Cup Winners' Cup (in 1987) and the UEFA Cup (in 1992). Ajax missed out on taking part in the Champions Cup in season 1900-91 due to fan disorder during the previous season.

Answer: Aviophobia

Aviophobia, or Aerophobia, is the intense fear/dislike of flying. Bergkamp developed this during his spell in Italy, when Inter Milan regularly flew to away games on small aircraft. After this he refused to fly, travelling to away games by train or car, which meant he missed a number of UEFA competition games and international matches.
