Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
Answer:

Jim Otto was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1980. The center for the Oakland Raiders played at Miami between 1957 and 1959. Ted "The Mad Stork" Hendricks played fifteen seasons in the NFL. The linebacker was inducted in 1990 and was previously a three time All-American for the Hurricanes. Quarterback Jim Kelly was the third Miami football player to be chosen for the NFL Hall of Fame in 2002. The former Buffalo Bills quarterback led the team to four consecutive Super Bowls between 1990 and 1993.

Wide receiver, Michael Irvin, was nicknamed "the Playmaker" at the University of Miami. He was the first Hurricane to win a college national championship and later win a Super Bowl. The former Dallas Cowboy was inducted in 2007. College teammates, Cortez Kennedy and Warren Sapp, both played defensive tackle in college and the NFL. Cortez was inducted in 2012 and played for the Seattle Seahawks. Warren Sapp was an All-Pro with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and inducted in 2013. College teammates, Ray Lewis and Ed Reed, both played their NFL careers with the Baltimore Ravens. Arguably the greatest defensive players in Miami history, Lewis made the Hall of Fame in 2018 and Reed made it the next year.

In 2020, running back Edgerrin James Jr. received his NFL Hall of Fame jacket. He played for Miami between 1996 and 1998. He played eleven seasons in the NFL and rushed for over 12,000 yards. In 2024, two former Miami Hurricanes were inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. Wide receiver, Andre Johnson, and Devin Hester, an electrifying returner and cornerback shared the ceremony stage. Johnson was an All-American at Miami from 2000 to 2002. Hester played his college ball between 2003 and 2005.

As for the wrong choices, they all played for Miami's in-state rivals, the Florida Gators (Tebow, Smith, Collinsworth) and the Florida State Seminoles (Butler, Brooks, and Sanders).
