It was apparent that the opening was meant to give us an idea of what pressures the characters of the show were going through. Everyone had challenges thrown at them, and how they dealt with them came to be the episode's main premise.

Answer: Lee Adama

The good doctor, in no good mood, was out to make Starbuck look the fool. However, Kara politely declined the offer to play cards and walked away. The tension created in the room made everyone else wonder what exactly had happened between the two.

Answer: "You're right. We need a break."

It seemed that the lovely Six was jealous and upset over Gaius' new relationship with Kara Thrace. When Roslin spoke to him about taking a break, he realized that that was exactly what he needed. He wanted to take a break from policy talk and from Six.

The forum and opera house were two of the main features of the City of the Gods on Kobol. Laura Roslin saw the inhabited city and was confused when she later returned to the picture and it was only ruins. Elosha showed her a sketch of what they thought the city might have looked like to a astounded Roslin.

Although she didn't end up killing herself, Boomer went through with the attempt. She shot herself in the cheek; perhaps deep down psychologically she could not kill herself. Baltar walked away from the scene, morose, confident that he had rid himself of another of his problems.

Commander Adama adamantly refused to allow her to use the Raider as it was a military asset. He didn't believe in the story of Earth and the mythology behind the Colonial religion. Although he did believe the planet was Kobol, that seemed to be the extent of the religion that he would acknowledge.

Answer: They encountered Cylons.

One Raptor was destroyed off the bat, one Raptor was shot down and was forced to make an emergency landing on Kobol, and the last Raptor jumped back to Galactica and informed them that the Cylons now hovered over their priceless planet.

Roslin asked Billy to find Kara Thrace. She told the pilot about her cancer and of the prophecies that were coming true. Kara, who believed in the gods, wasn't convinced though. She knew that Commander Adama would help them find Earth.
