The song, 'Come on Get Happy' was written by Wes Farrell and Danny Janssen. During the first season, it was deemed necessary to explain how the Partridge Family formed the group, but the song was replaced by the much catchier, more iconic "C'mon Get Happy" in season 2. This gave the show a fresher, more upbeat feel while still using the same melody. The new song really struck a chord with the audience, and it became the signature of the show.
'Come on Get Happy' was sung by David Cassidy as Keith Partridge, with back-up vocals by Shirley Jones as Shirley Partridge.
'Come on Get Happy' is a bright, upbeat, catchy tune that promotes joy and togetherness through music. It is a wholesome song about family values, travelling, and unity as a family. The song became so popular, it was known as a large part of the 1970's pop culture.
