Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Arriving in Jaipur, India in Leg 5, racers delivered which of these to a waiting mahout at the Amber Palace?

Answer: Sugarcane

Racers woke up in Can Tho, Vietnam at the start of Leg 5 and discovered that they would be flying two thousand miles west to the Pink City of Jaipur, India. All teams would end up taking the same Malaysian Airlines flight, lading in Jaipur and grabbing cabs to take them directly to the Amber Palace. Once at this massive landmark, teams could find a marked bundle of sugarcane and carry it up the steep path into the palace to hand it off to the mahout awaiting their arrival to get their next clue.
2. Racers in Leg 5 were asked 'who's feeling balanced' for their Road Block. It meant engaging with which activity?

Answer: Dancing

Dropping off their sugarcane, racers exchanged their delivery for a Road Block clue that asked for the teammate who was 'feeling balanced'. For this, the selected teammate had to get coordinated and choreographed as they learned a Rajasthani dance called Bhavai, performed with a series of pots balanced atop their head. If they could perform this dance without dropping the pots, they could receive their next clue. Ian, Ashlie, Chelsea, Corey, Anna Leigh, Garrett, Andrea, Morgan, Yeremi, and John completed this task.

After the Road Block, racers could proceed on foot to the step well at Panna Meena ka Kund to find their next cluebox.
3. Racers completing the 'All Dolled Up' Detour task in Leg 5 made which of these?

Answer: Marionettes

Teams made their Detour decision at Panna Meena ka Kund and chose between 'All Dolled Up' or 'The Big Picture', both of which sent teams by rickshaw to Jaigarh Fort. 'All Dolled Up' involved marionettes as the racers had to engage with a local art form known as Kathputli, creating two puppets (a king and a queen).

After assembling the wooden torso and cotton-filled arms and decorating their puppets with robes and headwear, they could string them up, dangle them from a puppet theatre twelve feet up, and make them dance for their next clue.
4. Most teams wanted 'The Big Picture' as their Detour selection in Leg 5, replicating a mural. Which of these teams was amongst them?

Answer: Greg and John

'The Big Picture' needed teams' eye for detail to be executed if they chose that Detour option. Heading into Jaigarh Fort proper, racers had to admire and replicate the Rajput paintings along the fortress' inner walls, dressing up in appropriate garb and placing themselves against a backdrop. The catch is that they not only needed to reflect on the proper art in the fort, but position themselves within their replicated version and add additional pieces to the work to make a picture-perfect copy.

Greg and John, Andrea and Malaina, Robbin and Chelsea, Liam and Yeremi, and Joe and Ian completed this challenge.
5. Which team was last to arrive at the Pit Stop in Jaipur at the end of Leg 5?

Answer: Joe and Ian

Finishing their Detour at Jaigarh Fort, racers had to get back into their rickshaws and proceed to the fifth Pit Stop waiting for them atop the city of Jaipur at Gatore Ki Chhatriyan. Steve and Anna Leigh led the pack out of the Road Block and stepped in front of Phil in first place, winning their second leg thus far (after also being first to the keep-on-racing mat in Leg 3) and taking $3,000 USD each as their added prize. They, along with the other teams, were also informed that the next leg of the race would include a mandatory and anonymous U-Turn Vote.

The end of the leg proved to be a tense one as the back-of-the-pack teams had nothing more than a rickshaw ride and a footrace separating them from the mat. Morgan and Lena were narrowly able to edge out Joe and Ian, eliminating them in tenth place by mere seconds.
6. At the fifth Pit Stop, teams were required to participate in a U-Turn Vote. Which team was subsequently U-Turned in Leg 6?

Answer: Steve and Anna Leigh

Before heading out on the sixth leg of the race, racers cast their votes on a U-Turn board, slotting their results in without the other teams seeing their choices. What it led to was a series of possibilities in which racers weighed out their strongest threats. The recipients of the extra task, Steve and Anna Leigh, wouldn't find out their fate until they reached the Detour. They received five votes to Robbin and Chelsea's four.

In the meantime, racers departed from Gatore Ki Chhatriyan in the order they arrived at the end of the previous leg and there opening their clue, they were told to race by taxi to Nagra Shoe Store, No. 32 on Hawa Mahal Road and ask the owner for a clue.
7. Racers had to help an electric rickshaw driver get their vehicle out of a parking lot. What colour rickshaw did they need to ride?

Answer: Pink

Finding the right shoe store would bring teams to the front of the beautiful Hawa Mahal facade, and there, teams were required to use a telescoping monocular to spy their next clue, written in one of the nine hundred and fifty windows on the building. This would have them racing deeper on foot into Jaipur. They'd be able to find their next clue at Udai Poll No. 2 in the marketplace of Jalebi Chowk.

What they would find at Jalebi Chowk was a messy parking lot of electric rickshaws, and after helping their driver, one of the female pink rickshaw drivers, push it out of the marked area, they would need to take a ride to the SD Masala Spice Shop to find their next clue.
8. Both Detour tasks in Leg 6 (in Jaipur) involved deliveries. For which did teams need to deliver to two locations?

Answer: 'Bundles'

At the SD Masala Spice Shop, racers found the Detour clue and the U-Turn board. While Steve and Anna Leigh had to do both sides of the Detour, the other racers had to choose between 'Bundles' or 'Bricks'. In 'Bundles', teams had to bundle flowers at the Jaipur Flower Market, placing their four sacks of flowers onto an auto-rickshaw, and delivering them to two temples in the city. After bringing back their receipts, they'd get their next clue. In 'Bricks', racers instead had to deliver bricks, sand, and gravel through Jaipur using a cycle rickshaw, bringing them from a supply depot to a work site.

Greg and John, Joel and Garrett, Todd and Ashlie, Rob and Corey, and Robbin and Chelsea all went for 'Bricks' while Andrea and Malaina, Morgan and Lena, and Liam and Yeremi finished 'Bundles'. As noted, Steve and Anna Leigh did both.
9. Racers had to collect which of these from a Jaipur shop, using it as a component of their Leg 6 Road Block?

Answer: Fabric

When teams wrapped up their Detours they could proceed to take their rickshaw to Garg Textile Wholesale Fabric Shop to collect a bolt of fabric and their next clue. This one would send them to Jaipur Mahal and their final task, the Road Block for this leg of the race. For this one, a racer would need to play with blocks, using four different stamps to print nine peacock designs on their provided fabric. Only if they could get the prints perfectly assembled and approved could they proceed. This task was completed by Greg, Rob, Todd, Joel, Lena, Steve, Malaina, Robbin, and Liam.
10. Which team was last to check in at the Pit Stop in Leg 6, getting eliminated in ninth place?

Answer: Liam and Yeremi

After the Road Block, racers were able to get one last clue and head to the sixth Pit Stop of the competition, the public square and traffic circle of Badi Chaupar. Greg and John navigated the traffic the fastest, maintaining a lead throughout the entirety of the leg and landing on the mat to meet Phil and claim a win.

The brothers won a trip for two to New Zealand courtesy of Expedia. When all was said and done, Liam and Yeremi couldn't pull out of the back of the pack, and a series of difficult rickshaw rides left them in last, eliminated in ninth when they stepped on the mat.
