Charles Percy was only around the hospital for a short while, mostly in season 6. Played by Robert Baker, Charles was one of the doctors who transferred to Seattle Grace when Mercy West closed. He is memorable for being one of the victims of the hospital shooting that closed that season; the one who Bailey (Chandra Wilson) tried so hard to save.

Levi Schmitt (Jake Borelli) arrived in season 14 as a bumbling intern who once allowed his glasses to slip from his face into the open wound of a surgical patient. He developed into a caring and careful resident, thoughtful friend and complicated individual, who still lived with his mother. His reluctance to come out as gay to that lady put a strain on his relationship with orthopaedic surgeon Nico Kim (Alex Landi). Schmitt departed to pursue new interests in season 21.

Cardio-thoracic surgeon Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) has had two distinct regular sessions as a doctor at the Seattle hospital central to the show. The first was from season 6 through season 8, after which she departed only to return in season 15. Throughout she has had a complicated relationship with Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd), beginning with time spent in the military together, before either of them worked at Seattle Grace/Grey-Sloan and continuing through a rocky marriage.

OB/GYN resident Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) and head orthopaedic surgeon Link Lincoln (Chris Carmack) had been friends for a long time before getting married in season 21. Each had been involved in a number of other relationships along the way, both within and outside of the hospital "family". Each brought a child from a former relationship to the union, before Jo became pregnant with their twins.

Jules Millin (Adelaide Kane) arrived at Grey Sloan Memorial as an intern in season 19, progressing to surgical resident within a few seasons. She has had a number of romantic entanglements with both men and women, and became close friends with the octegenarian, Maxine (Juliet Mills), from whom she rented a room.
