Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Arguably the most important NPC in the entire game appears here. What blacksmith takes up permanent residence?

Answer: Andre

Andre is the only character capable of bringing a weapon to its max at +15. While he can't work with all infusions nor forge Boss Soul weapons, he can still ascend these items and bring them to their max level once the player is able to properly create them. He also sells infinite amounts of Titanite Shards along with a plentiful stock of weapons of all kinds.
2. The Undead Parish blacksmith sells many things, his most expensive being an incredibly important key item needed to eventually beat the entire game. What item is this?

Answer: Crest of Artorias

The Crest of Artorias is sold by Andre for a steep 20,000 Souls. It is needed to get into the Darkroot Basin and fight Great Grey Wolf Sif, a boss who must be defeated to progress the game.
3. Inside the actual Parish building itself is an important key item that can help the player get the most out of their Estus Flasks. What item is this?

Answer: Firekeeper Soul

The Firekeeper Soul performs the same function as Estus Shards do in the other two games of the trilogy. While horribly inadvisable, it can also be consumed and converted into five Liquid Humanities, in addition to fully healing the player upon use.
4. An angry army of Hollows stands between the player and the boss of the area. They are particularly angry because they have an enabler this time: a unique mini boss. Who is this?

Answer: Channeler

When the player aggro the Channeler, it will initially start firing Soul Arrows at them. When the player gets close to the massive group of Hollows near the Channeler, the Channeler will do a dance that greatly increases the damage output of these Hollows for a brief period of time.

This can make such a hapless enemy surprisingly dangerous, encouraging the player to take out the Channeler quickly. Fortunately, it does not respawn, so the Hollows associated with the Channeler become hapless once again once the player achieves this.
5. Here, the player can join a covenant, provided that they've actively engaged in multiplayer or are making a Faith build. What covenant can they join?

Answer: Warriors of Sunlight

To join Warriors of Sunlight, the player must have a 25 in Faith. This can be lowered by two points for every time the player helps another player kill a boss, to a minimum of 15.
6. Here, the player can find an NPC trapped in a locked room. They can free him, but they may not want to. What NPC is this?

Answer: Lautrec of Carim

If released, Lautrec will eventually go on to murder Anastasia, the Firelink Shrine's Firekeeper. The player could free him and then immediately kill him to prevent this, as well as to receive the Ring of Favor and Protection, one of the best rings in the game.
7. Who is the boss of Undead Parish?

Answer: Bell Gargoyles

The player will eventually have to kill two Gargoyles. The fight starts off with one of them initially attacking the player, and the second one swooping in to the scene when the first hits half health or after thirty seconds.
8. Once the boss is defeated, the first Bell of Awakening can be rung. Interestingly, these have a unique quirk to them. Which of the following is true?

Answer: The bell will ring when other players ring it in their worlds

If the player has an active internet connection and the servers are live, anytime a different player beats the gargoyles and then rings the bell, all players will hear the bell ring in their own worlds. This has been a constant in both original and remastered games, and it also works with the second Bell of Awakening as well.
9. The NPC Oswald of Carim can be found in the bell tower. He can perform a unique service of pardoning the player's sins. However, he can also sell the infamous consumable known as Indictments. What do Indictments do?

Answer: Cause an invading player to be frequently invaded themselves

If the player is invaded by another player and ultimately defeated, they can use an Indictment on their murderer. The invading player will be open to invasions from members of the Blades of the Darkmoon, and their world will also be prioritized for general invasions as well. The Indictment lasts until the player is slain by an invader or a member of the Blades of the Darkmoon.

Indictments cannot be used if the invading player was a member of the Blades of the Darkmoon and had used the Blue Eye Orb to perform said invasion.
10. Oswald of Carim can also sell the miracle Karmic Justice to the player. What does Karmic Justice do?

Answer: Retaliate upon receiving multiple blows

Once cast, Karmic Justice will be active for a full minute. If, during this time, the caster is hit by five attacks, it will activate. The result is a slightly inferior Wrath of the Gods that will knock down all enemy units. It requires 30 Faith to be cast.
