The Letter K Trivia Questions

1. Analyzing the flags of Cyprus and Kosovo, I noticed that they have something in common. What is the similarity?

From Quiz
Hello, Here is the Letter "K"

Answer: They feature a map

The only two countries in the world that feature a country map in the flag are Cyprus and Kosovo. The Cyprus flag, adopted in 1960 on the occasion of the country's independence, is white, the color of peace between two communities of Greeks and Turks living in the country. In its center is a gold map of the country and below are two green olive branches, which also represent peace. The flag of Kosovo was adopted in 2018 on the occasion of its independence from Serbia. It is blue with the yellow map of the country in the center. Above the map is an arc formed by six white five-pointed stars. The stars represent the main ethnic groups that make up the nation.

4. No tin ears allowed: The Kugelmann family produced several composers. Which one died in 1548?

From Quiz Kickin' the "K"s - It's the "K" Quiz...

Answer: Melchior

Melchior, of whom I am unable to find any other biographical information, died in 1548. His (apparently) only recorded compositions are "Hilf mir, mein lieber Herre" and "Von Anfang her". He may have served at the court of King Christian III of Denmark and Norway. Dates suggest that he may have been the father of Heinrich and Paul, although this cannot be confirmed. Heinrich died in 1578. The only piece of his which appears to be on a recording is the "Benedicamus". Paul died in 1580. Naxos has a listing for the recording of his "Ich klag mein Not, o Herr mein Gott" and a score is available for his 1558 composition, "Sieben teutsche Liedlein". There may have been a Wolfgang Kugelmann, but for the purpose of this quiz, I made him up.

From Quiz Answers Beginning With 'K'

Answer: Koala & koalas

Koalas are marsupials found in the states of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia in the country of Australia. A marsupial is an animal that typically gives birth to, and carries its young in pouches. Koalas are grey or brown, and are usually 60-85 cm (24-33 in) tall and weigh 4-15 kg (9-33 lb). Koalas are herbivores, living off of the eucalyptus trees that grow in their home ranges. The koalas often called a "koala bear", but this is a misnomer. The koala is not related to any species of bear. Its closest relative is the wombat. The koala is listed as a species at risk of extinction in some areas due to threats caused by climate change and urbanization. Kangaroo is another "K" marsupial, but kangaroos don't live in eucalyptus trees, so that was an incorrect answer in this case.

Traditionally, a threat to these chicken-sized birds was habitat loss, but invasive predators are now more of a threat as the country has moved to protect its traditional habitats. A kiwi's egg is the largest in proportion of the female's body weight of all birds at 20% of the body weight. Kiwi form monogamous pairs for their entire lives.
