From the album 'The Memory of Trees', 1995.

3. What song from "The Memory of Trees" features the lyrics, "You talk of the break of morning as you view the new aurora"?

From Quiz How Can She Keep From Singing?

Answer: China Roses

This is a gorgeous song, mentioning all things of beauty, like various flowers, sunrises and sunsets, trees, auroras, rivers, and heaven. China roses are a type of flower that darken, rather than fade, as they age. A Sappho Comet is a type of bird, angel tears and moonlight holly are flowers, and acajou is a kind of tree.

4. Where does this one come from? "Who can tell me if we have heaven Who can say the way it should be Moonlight holly, the Sappho Comet Angel's tears below a tree"

From Quiz Lyrics of Enya

Answer: China Roses

Another from 'The Memory of Trees', this track also features on 'Paint the Sky With Stars: The Best of Enya' album.

5. "The First of Autumn" is a strong, instrumental piece that was not released on a U.S. studio album. However, it did appear on an album in other countries. Which album did it appear on?

From Quiz "Sail Away" with Enya

Answer: A Day Without Rain

The Australian and Canadian releases of this album contain this song. Also, "The First of Autumn" appears as a B-side of the "May It Be" single and as part of "Only Time: The Collection".

From the 2000 album 'A Day Without Rain', one of my favourite albums.

7. Enya has released a Christmas single named 'Oiche Chiun'. What does 'Oiche Chiun' mean in English?

From Quiz The Music of Enya

Answer: 'Silent Night'

8. Which Enya song below does not mention its title anywhere in the lyrics?

From Quiz How Can She Keep From Singing?

Answer: Evacuee

"Evacuee" implies its meaning rather than stating that the singer is an evacuee being separated from her mother. With its lyrics, it brings to mind the bombing of London during WWII and being sent away from the parents to the relative safety of the country.

9. On which album would you find the songs "Hope Has a Place" and "On My Way Home"?

From Quiz "Sail Away" with Enya

Answer: The Memory of Trees

"The Memory of Trees" also contains "China Roses", widely considered to be one of Enya's best songs. The album won a Grammy for "Best New Age Album" in the '90s.

10. Which popular song was used in the movie, 'Far and Away', starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman?

From Quiz The Music of Enya

Answer: 'Book of Days'

Most pressings from mid-1992 onwards replaced the original 'Book Of Days' with a re-recording of the English lyric version used in the film, which had previously been released as a single.

11. Another translation question: "A word to the wise: The more people have, The more they want." These lyrics have been translated from the Latin. Which Enya song from "Watermark" do they come from?

From Quiz How Can She Keep From Singing?

Answer: Cursum Perficio

"Tempus Vernum" means "Time of Spring," "Pax Deorum" means "Peace of the Gods" and "Afer Ventus" means "African Wind." "Cursum Perficio" means "I finish the course" and was scribed on the floor in Marilyn Monroe's last house.

12. Enya sings in many languages, including English, Gaelic, and Latin. Which album does not contain any Latin singing?

From Quiz "Sail Away" with Enya

Answer: Amarantine

"Watermark" had "Cursum Perficio", "The Memory of Trees" contained "Pax Deorum", and "And Winter Came..." featured "O Come O Come Emmanuel", which was half in English and half in Latin. The album "Amarantine" is also unique among Enya albums in that it contains no songs in Gaelic, Enya's first language.

13. Where does this lyric appear? "City lights shine on the harbour Night has fallen down Through the darkness and the shadow I will still go on"

From Quiz Lyrics of Enya

Answer: Long Long Journey

Taken from the 2005 album 'Amarantine', which was five years in the making, and well worth the wait!

15. What is the difference between "Storms in Africa" and "Storms in Africa II"?

The English version was originally not included on the album "Watermark" and is still omitted from some releases. "Storms in Africa" was used in the movie "Green Card".

Enya is Ireland's best-selling solo artist ever.

17. Which Gaelic song from "Shepherd Moons" was replaced with an English version on re-releases of the album?

From Quiz "Sail Away" with Enya

Answer: Book Of Days

The English version was done for "Far and Away", a movie about Irish immigrants coming to the United States. The original Gaelic track is a rarity only found on the original release of the album, and is well worth finding. Interestingly, the "Of" in "Book Of Days" is intended to be capitalized.

18. Another sung in a different language, in which song could you find it? "Ergo, oceanus, maritimus Ergo, opacare, matutinus Ergo, septentrio, meridies Ergo, occidens et orientis"

From Quiz Lyrics of Enya

Answer: Tempus Vernum

Another from the 2000 album 'A Day Without Rain', this song has a deeper tone than most of Enya's other work.

'The Celts' was reissued in 1992.

23. "Green is in the mistletoe and red is in the holly. Silver in the stars above that shine on everybody." W hat song contains these lyrics?

24. How many songs on "The Celts" does Enya sing in English?

From Quiz "Sail Away" with Enya

Answer: One

25. Two to go! Which delightful song hosts these words? "Lovers in the long grass, look above them Only they can see where the clouds are going Only to discover Dust and sunlight Ever make the sky so blue"

From Quiz Lyrics of Enya

Answer: Flora's Secret

Another from 'A Day Without Rain', and one of my absolute favourites. It is worth noting that Enya uses the word 'Amaranthine' late in the song, and the 2005 album is called 'Amarantine'. Why the 'h' was dropped I'm not sure.

26. And finally... "My life goes on in endless song Above earth's lamentations I hear the real, though far-off hymn That hails a new creation"

From Quiz Lyrics of Enya

Answer: How Can I Keep From Singing

A delightful track from the 1991 album 'Shepherd Moons'. Thanks for playing the quiz, I hope I didn't make it too hard! As it only takes a few seconds to do, please take the time to give this quiz a rating, as it's only my second attempt and I'd like to know how I'm doing!

27. Enya has two songs on which 2001 soundtrack?

From Quiz The Music of Enya

Answer: 'The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring'

From Quiz "Sail Away" with Enya

Answer: Exile

"As Baile" means "away from home" and appeared on the 1994 "Christmas EP" album along with "Oiche Chiun". It omits the very nice instrumental solo near the end. "As Baile" was recorded before "Exile" but was redone with English lyrics at the request of Enya's executive producer, Rob Dickins.

29. One of Enya's most popular songs is known to many as "Sail Away". However, it was not the original title. What was it called?
