12. Who asked Jesus this question?
"Lord, are You washing my feet?"
From Quiz A Serving of Biblical Left Overs -- #8
Answer:
Peter
Peter asked the question of Jesus at the Last Supper, as per John 13:6. When Jesus answered Peter, saying, "What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this," Peter was defiant. "You shall never wash my feet!" he is quoted as saying in Verse 8.
When Jesus answered him, "If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me," Peter again spoke without thinking things through. In Verse 9, he is quoted as telling Jesus, "Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!"
Verse 10 tells of Christ's response: "He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you." (The statement 'not all of you' was in reference to Judas Iscariot who would betray Him.)
After washing their feet, Jesus goes on to tell His disciples: "Most assuredly, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master; nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them."
