'Supernatural'- Season 11 Trivia Questions

1. Which actress played a powerful witch who spent much of season 11 seeking power and was no friend of the Winchesters, but ended up assisting the Winchesters in their efforts to stop the Darkness?

From Quiz
"Supernatural" Name the Actor/Actress - Season 11

Answer: Ruth Connell

Ruth Connell played Rowena, the witch who escaped with the Book of the Damned at the end of season 10. Crowley's mother, she spent the season searching for power, attempting to recruit members to a "mega coven" in "The Bad Seed," then attempting to ally herself with Lucifer in "O Brother Where Art Thou" and "The Devil in the Details." Lucifer, referring to her as a "groupie," responded by killing her - but she came back, due to her witchcraft. In the last episodes of the season, she assisted the Winchesters in their fight to stop the Darkness - playing up to God, of course.

2. What were the brothers hunting in "The Chitters"?

From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 11 Episodes 19 through 23

Answer: Bisan

The brothers were hunting bisan, which were described as cicada spirits. The creatures hatch from underground every twenty-seven years, take over bodies so they can mate, and kill the hosts. The brothers teamed up with two other hunters, one of whom (Jesse) saw one of the creatures take his brother when he was a child.

3. In "The Vessel," the brothers were searching for which weapon to use against Amara?

From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 11, Episodes 14 through 18

Answer: Hand of God

Sam discovered references to the "Hand of God" while researching Nazi history. He discovered they had an archeological branch that had searched for this super weapon that would be strong enough to win the war. "The Hand of God" was a "catch-all" for items God touched while on earth. The items were said to hold traces of God's power. Sam convinced Dean they needed to search for one of these weapons, lost during WWII, so they could use it against Amara. Once Dean found it, the artifact turned out to be a piece of the Ark of the Covenant.

4. What song was playing during the "road so far" segment of "The Devil in the Details"?

From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 11, Episodes 10 through 13

Answer: "Changing Tracks" by Wishbone Ash

"Changing Tracks, with its lyric, "Can't get the devil off my mind," was the perfect song to accompany a recap of the first nine episodes of season 11, which ended with Sam trapped in the cage with Lucifer. Each of the other songs was in an episode of season 10: "The Boys are Back in Town" was in "Book of the Damned," "The Weight" was in "Hibbing 911," and "Heartbreaker" was in "Black."

5. When Dean realized which television show Castiel was watching in "Our Little World," he told his friend to turn off the television. What was the show that earned Dean's disapproval?

From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 11, Episodes 6 through 9

Answer: Jenny Jones

While on the phone with Cas, Dean heard the show in the background, and asked if Castiel was watching "Jenny Jones." Cas admitted he was, and told Dean it was "a rerun" and "She's just about to announce the paternity results." Dean responded, "I thought you were going with socially acceptable binge watching; you know, "The Wire," "Game of Thrones." Castiel replied, "Man can't live on caviar alone, Dean." Dean then urged him to "turn off the tv, go outside, get some air." He then told his friend that he needed him "back in the game."

6. In "Out of the Darkness, Into the Fire," what song was playing during the "road so far" segment?

From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 11, Episodes 1 through 5

Answer: "Run Through the Jungle" by Creedence Clearwater Revival

"Run through the Jungle" played while the viewer was reminded how the brothers wound up in the car, facing a freed " Darkness". The song was a perfect accompaniment to a reminder of all they went through during season 10, and the path that led to Sam saving his brother from the Mark of Cain. The song was also used during "Sin City" in season 3, when the brothers first arrived in the town.

7. Which actor or actress played the Devil?

From Quiz "Supernatural" Name the Actor/Actress - Season 11

Answer: Mark Pellegrino

Mark Pellegrino played Lucifer. The Devil was locked in the cage in Hell, where he had been ever since Sam trapped him there in "Swan Song," in season 5. He sent visions to Sam to try to trick him into releasing him, hoping to possess the younger Winchester brother again. But, while the Devil succeeded in getting Sam to speak with him, then dragged him into a cage with him (thanks to a double-cross by Rowena) and took Sam on a freaky version of "This is Your Life," Sam did not let Lucifer in. Unfortunately, Castiel did let him in. While the actor only appeared in two episodes, his ability to play project menace and instill fear in the other character and viewers was profound.

8. Chuck Shurley's pen name was Carver Edlund. What was his other identity, revealed in "Don't Call Me Shurley"?

From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 11 Episodes 19 through 23

Answer: God

Chuck's pen name, Carver Edlund, was revealed in "The Monster at the End of this Book" in season 4. The pen name was a call out to two of the show's writers; Jeremy Carver and Ben Edlund. 9. When Dean proposed that Sam stay behind while he and Cas time travelled to retrieve the weapon in "The Vessel," Sam asked, "So you expect me to sit here and ride the pine while you and Cas play _______"?

From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 11, Episodes 14 through 18

Answer: Jules Verne

10. When Sam asked Lucifer about Rowena, Lucifer called Rowena a ______.

From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 11, Episodes 10 through 13

Answer: groupie

In "The Devil in the Details," Lucifer told Sam that he was the one sending Sam visions. Sam asked about Rowena, and Lucifer replied, "Did as she was told. Groupies - they're always so eager." Sam then told Lucifer that no matter what Lucifer did to him, he would not give in.

The Mark was removed and she was released, first appearing before Dean in "Out of the Darkness, Into the Fire." She proceeded to wreak havoc in her efforts to get revenge on her brother, God. From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 11, Episodes 6 through 9

Answer: summer of love

From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 11, Episodes 6 through 9

From Quiz "Supernatural" Season 11, Episodes 1 through 5

The scene had a lot of parallels to "Croatoan" in season 2, when Sam was attacked by an infected woman in the storage room in the medical center, who bled in him. In that case, he was immune to the demonic virus. In season 11, though, he was not immune to the virus.
