After Rufio gave her emblems to the ex-queen of Egypt, one of Cleopatra's maids pushed a stone, causing the doors to slam shut and a barricade to come down to keep the door closed. Cleopatra allowed the snake to bite her just above her right breast and she died quickly. Her maids soon followed her.

The next scene was Cleopatra reborn as the daughter of Isis, just as the movie had opened. In reality Caesarian was dead and her three children by Antony were raised by Octavia, Antony's Roman wife, and Octavius' sister. Arsinoe had died in Rome after being paraded in Rome by Caesar as a prize and Caesar reportedly died at the bottom of a statue of Pompey, his dead daughter's late husband.
