Eileen has inarguably the most moxie out of any NPC in the game, deliberately designed to make the player feel weak and inferior compared to her. It's for this reason that her questline, particularly the ending, is so satisfying. Finding Eileen down and bleeding out at the Grand Cathedral, the player must confront the Bloody Crow of Cainhurst within the building. This is essentially the game prompting the player to defeat a character so strong even Eileen couldn't handle him, instilling immense amounts of triumph when the player does eventually claim victory.

Father Gascoigne is a fellow hunter such as yourself! You find Father Gascoigne just as the bloodlust of the Old Blood has overcome him, turning him into a frenzied beast.
