1. What's the name of the player's character in the game?

Answer: Corvo

Corvo Attano is the game's hero. He's the guy that gets framed for the murder of an empress and sets out to get even. As the blurb on the game's box says; "Revenge solves everything"!

2. What does the "Blink" power allow you to do?

Answer: Teleport

Near the start of the game, the Outsider visits Corvo and grants him the use of Blink. For three Runes, you can upgrade Blink. This will increase the teleport distance.

3. In the first mission you have to break out of the prison (where you're due to be executed) before you can start seeking bloody, or not so bloody, revenge. What's the name of this prison?

Answer: Coldridge

You have to get out of Coldridge (by killing, stealth or a bit of both) and pick up your stuff before you can really start getting to work on clearing your name. Incidentally, Pavelock Prison was the jail in "Thief: Deadly Shadows".

4. How many Runes are needed to upgrade the "Possession" power?

Initially, Possession allows you to possess animals, such as rats and fish. For five Runes, you can upgrade Possession. This allows you to possess humans.

5. Once you get out of jail you operate from a base in the city of Dunwall for a large part of the rest of the game. What kind of a place is it?

The inn's called the "Hounds Pits Pub" and Corvo has a room in the attic all to himself there. There's also a workshop there, run by a chap called Piero, where he can purchase upgrades and ammunition for the missions ahead.

6. A particularly memorable character in "Dishonored" is called Granny Rags and she turns up a few times throughout the game. The voice acting for her was done by someone rather famous. Who?

Granny Rags (aka Vera Moray) is a blind, old witch with a nice line in crazy talk. Carrie Fisher also has a voice role in the game, playing the female Propaganda Officer, who takes over from her male counterpart (if you decide to kill him).

7. How much do Rewire Tools cost at Piero's workshop?

After completing a mission, you are returned to the Hound Pits Pub, where you can visit Piero's workshop and buy ammo and equipment upgrades. Rewire Tools allow you to rewire the City Watch's technology and turn it against them.

Dunwall is a greedy consumer of whale oil, which is gathered from, er, whales. Whales are slaughtered constantly in order to power the various contraptions that are seen in the game.

Like Runes, Bone Charms can be found scattered around the missions. Equip Bone Charms to receive various enhancements and abilities. Only a certain number of Bone Charms may be equipped at once.

10. How do you unlock the "Back Home" achievement/trophy?

Answer: Kill an attacker by throwing a live grenade back at him

The upgraded version of the "Bend Time" power allows you to completely stop time for a few seconds. While time is frozen, you can grab enemy projectiles, including grenades and bullets. This can help with the achievement/trophy.

11. What is Thaddeus Campbell's role?

Thaddeus Campbell is the leader of the Abbey of the Everyman, a religious order. He is the game's first assassination target.

12. After realising that the admiral is a bad guy after all, your character has to pursue him for the final showdown. What kind of a place does this encounter happen in?

The lighthouse, on Kingsparrow Island, also has a comprehensive fort attached to it. Admiral Havelock holds the kidnapped Emily in the lighthouse and the ending to the game always occurs here. Your actions at this point (whether you rescue Emily or not, for example), along with all your previous actions in the game will lead you to one of three cut-scenes showing: (1) A happy, contented empire, (2) A plague ridden empire or (3) The crumbling of Dunwall city and the fleeing of Corvo by boat.

13. During the mission "The Royal Physician", a riddle on a note reveals the combination to Pratchett's safe. Complete this sentence of the riddle: "The way to the truth starts in the..."

The note titled "Pratchett's Reminder" is found in Pratchett's house and contains this riddle: "Remember that the truth is in the paintings! The way to the truth starts in the crowded streets. Continue until you see an anchored whaling ship. From there, find the slaughterhouse and the truth will be revealed to you." The safe combination numbers are written on the paintings in the house.

14. How many Sokolov paintings are in the mission "Lady Boyle's Last Party"?

Most of the missions in the game contain hidden collectibles called "Sokolov paintings", which give you 300 coins when collected. In the mission "Lady Boyle's Last Party", both paintings can be found on the second floor of the mansion.

Each of the game's key targets can be eliminated non-lethally. The Lord Regent, Hiram Burrows, can be eliminated non-lethally by broadcasting a recording, which reveals that he was responsible for bringing the rat plague to Dunwall and organising the Empress's assassination.
