When the system was first built, the Yonge line and Bloor-Danforth line were interlined so that one could travel from the east or west to downtown without changing trains. This prooved to be unreliable, and the interlining was cancelled only six months after it began. Now, the TTC rents the platform for filming.

Route 99 is a looping route. Meaning, it only travels in one direction on each street that it serves. West on Sheppard Avenue, North on Arrow Road, East on Finch Avenue, South on Jane Street. No other bus route in Toronto does this. In addition, it is also the only route that does not stop at any subway station.

The original Yonge line ran between Eglinton Station in the north and Union Station in the south. The extra Bay Street Station was expected to be part of the Yonge line, before it was decided to go up University instead of Bay Street. It is now used occassionally to film movies and commercials. Both levels of St. George Station are working stations, and Dundas West and Keele are both single stations.

Several streets have multiple stations on them, but they are not all named the same. Eglinton Avenue has two stations named for it (Eglinton and Eglintion West), St. Clair Avenue has both St. Clair and St. Clair West, and Dundas Street has a Dundas Station and a Dundas West Station, on two different lines.
