1. What does the term LBW stand for in cricket?

Answer: Leg before wicket

Leg before wicket is a when a batsman is struck with the ball in front of the stumps without hitting the ball with the bat, and the umpire believes the ball would have hit the stumps and so decides that the batsman is out.
2. Can a batsman be given out off a no ball?

Answer: Yes

A batsman can be run out trying to take a run after a no ball is bowled.
3. What does the term "to bowl a maiden over" mean?

Answer: an over where no runs are scored

A maiden over is when a bowler completes an over with out conceding a run.

Answer: Yes

There are several ways of getting out in cricket. Caught is one of them and it is when a batsman hits the ball and a fielder catches the ball on the full. This includes the keeper and bowler as well as the other fielders.
5. When a batsman is given out run out what does it mean?

Answer: When a batman is short of the crease whilst attempting a run

Run out is when the batsman is attempting to make runs and is unable to get to crease line before the bails are removed. The batsman can have his bat in the crease and still be run out if he has not grounded his bat.
6. What are extras in cricket?

Answer: runs that are not scored off the bat

Extras are sometimes called sundries. They are made up of byes, leg byes, wides and no balls.
7. Is the umpire part of a cricket team?

Answer: no

The umpire is the person who officiates at either end of the wicket, either behind the stumps or at square leg. He is the person who determines whether you are out or not. The umpire also decides the extras.

If a batsman handles the ball he will be given out.

Answer: Six

A six is what batsman like to hit. Four runs are scored when the ball runs along the ground and reaches the boundary.

Answer: A run scored when the keeper fails to stop the ball

When the bowler bowls the ball, if the batsman fails to hit the ball and the keeper misses it enabling the batsmen to complete a run, then a bye is scored.
