Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. I'm the rather practical middle child, who's rather obsessed with football. I like men's tophats, and tend to forget my sweaters when I go out. Who am I?

Answer: John

John always seems to be rather neglected to me, as a lot of middle children do. He's not mentioned a terrible lot- a steadfast, serious, in-the-background kind of person.
2. I don't believe in fai- oh no! I almost killed her, Peter's faithful, but jealous companion. She's also rather-er- small. Who is she?

Answer: Tinker Bell

When I was small, my brother used to annoy me by running around the house shouting "I don't believe in fairies!" at the top of his lungs. I would dissolve into tears, firmly believing that he was murdering little people around the world.
3. As the reliable, pragmatic nursemaid, I keep a faithful watch over the Darling children. I believe "in old-fashioned remedies like rhubarb leaf." My name is Nana, and I have absolutely NO patience with this modern idea.

Answer: germs

Ah, Nana- one of my favorite characters. If Liza hadn't dragged her away, the children never would have been able to fly away with Peter Pan.
4. The Darlings had only one other servant beside Nana, who loved to dance. She is apparently very tiny, for it says she had to swear "she would never see ten again." It is because of her that Mr. Darling's nasty medicine was found. What is this elusive maid's name? For yes, she was their maid.

Answer: Liza

"Such a midget she looked in her long skirt and maid's cap, though she had sworn, when engaged, that she would never see ten again."
5. "What is your name?" he asked. "Wendy Moira A-" oops! I almost gave it away! What is the the third (not last!) name of the Darling's oldest child and only daughter?

Answer: Angela

Wendy has always been my favorite character.
6. Ouch! Be careful, Wendy! She's sewing Peter's naughty shadow back on, for he had carelessly lost it. When Wendy woke and saw Peter in the nursery, what was he trying to stick the captured shadow back on with?

Answer: a bar of soap

7. Oh! I'm so disappointed. Peter didn't come to the nursery to see me, Wendy, but to gather up stories to take back to the lost boys. What story, also made into a Disney film, did he especially want to hear?

Answer: Cinderella

"Which story was it?"
"About the prince who couldn't find the lady who wore the glass slipper."
"Peter," said Wendy excitedly, "that was Cinderella..."
8. Neverland is not quite so innocent and safe as one would like to think. When the lost boys were out and about, the pirates hunted them. The pirates were in turn stalked by the "redskins". The question is: who wanted the blood of the "redskins"?

Answer: beasts

"The lost boys were out looking for Peter, the pirates were out looking for the lost boys, the redskins were out looking for the pirates, and the beasts were out looking for the redskins."
9. Jas. Cook- or James Cook. Also known as the dread Captain Hook, he was whispered to have been the bo'sun of Blackbeard, and was feared even by that dread pirate. He killed poor Skylight, one of his own crew, because the unfortunate man happened to trip and ruffle the Captain's lace collar. The exquisitely curved hook was plunged into the poor fellow's back. What was this terrible hook made of?

Answer: iron

"But undoubtedly the grimmest part of him was his iron claw."
There is something very attractive about Capt. Hook, excepting his thirst for blood. His elegant manner is appealing to children, who like their villains to be interesting.
10. The beautiful, gentle, Never bird saves Peter's life when he is trapped on a rock in the middle of the ocean, unable to fly because of a wound. She gives him her nest to float away in; what does he do in return?

Answer: saves her eggs

Peter put her eggs into one of the pirates' hat that had been left on the rock. She liked it so much she didn't bother to build another nest.
