The Catholics who were urged not to attend, told on him. November 5th became Guy Fawkes Day, an anti-Catholic holiday. The leader of the conspiracy was Wlliam Catesby, but it was Guy Fawkes who was found with the barrels of gunpowder under the House of Lords.

Answer: George Villiers

George, later the Duke of Buckingham, became James' 'favorite' and advised him. Later, his son Charles became best friends with George and went to Spain to try and convince the Infanta to marry Charles. She said no.
