1. Which of these men were NOT Weyrleader of Fort Weyr?

Answer: G'don

G'don was Weyrleader of High Reaches at the beginning of the second pass of the Red Star. ("Red Star Rising", or "Dragonseye").
S'nan was the Weyrleader of Fort at the beginning of the second pass of the Red Star. ("Red Star Rising", or "Dragonseye").
T'ton, who is also called T'ron, was the oldtimer Weyrleader of Fort who came forward with Lessa ("The White Dragon").
Sh'gall was Weyrlead of Fort during the end of the sixth pass ("Moreta: Dragonlady of Pern").

Lessa's mound, a small hold, was the first one to be explored. Both Lessa and F'lar found the exterior of the building at the same time, at which Fandarel decided that work should be concentrated on Lessa's mound. ("The White Dragon").

Dolphin's are funny creatures, aren't they? There is an Alta at both Monaco and Cove hold. Tana is in the Eastern Weyr pod, whilst Ron is in the Cove hold pod.

5. Whom of Thella's, Lady Holdless, companions was an ex-dragonrider?

Answer: Giron

Giron was the ex-dragonrider. Dushik was Thella's first recruit. Readis was Jayge's uncle, whose humiliation at the hands of the Kimmage holders forced him to live holdless. Perschar is the undercover Harper spy.

Answer: Fort, Benden, High Reaches, Igen, Ista, Telgar

Although in "The Second Weyr" (short story from "The Chronicles Of Pern: First Fall") it was said that Telgar and Ista that was built before High Reaches and Igen, it is clearly stated in the Dragondex the order of founding. There are a few such discrepancies in the series.

Answer: Crom

Crom was only just being established in the book "Red Star Rising", or "Dragonseye", which is at the beginning of the second pass. The other holds were mentioned in the same book, except for Ruatha hold, but according to "The Ford of Red Hanrahan" it was established in the year 19, 10 years into the first pass.

8. How many jumps between times did Jaxom undergo to return Ramoth's queen egg, once he had the egg in his possession?

Answer: 3

Once Jaxom had the egg, he went between 1 turn into the future to Southern Weyr. Then they went 5 turns more into the future to Keroon. The final jump was to Benden Weyr itself, 6 turns into the future.

Jaxom is by far my favourite character from Pern, "The White Dragon" being my favourite book, closely followed by "All The Weyrs Of Pern".

Answer: 4 years, 10 months, and 28 days

When AIVAS first told the dragonriders the time, it was 4 years, 10 months and 27 days, but that was the day after AIVAS woke up.

10. How long can dragons survive without oxygen?

Answer: 15 minutes

Fifteen minutes was the upper time AIVAS required for the excursion to the Red Star. In the first excursion to the Red Star, the trip took twelve and a half minutes, so it was obvious that dragons could survive longer.
