Answer: Omaha, Nebraska

 Here, Jaffe worked in the dead letter room, where all the lost mail in the US postal system ends up. His boss makes him pool together any cash and valuables and divide them among the employees.

Answer: The Shoal

 The Shoal use powerful magicks to protect a hidden world from being tainted and destroyed. Jaffe finds an amulet inside one envelope that belonged to one of these shamans.

Answer: Quiddity

 Quiddity is the name of a vast sea in a hidden realm that may be a heightened state of consciousness. We only visit it three times during our lives. Through his readings, Jaffe discovers that one could find immense power there.

 The Iad Uroboros are beings from yet another dimension, who want to invade and destroy Quiddity. They have many agents in our world who are trying to create a portal that would bring the Iad from Quiddity to our world.

Answer: Kissoon

 Kissoon was locked in a time loop by another of the Shoal once his betrayal had been discovered. His body cannot leave the loop, although his consciousness can, if housed in another body. He tries twice through Jaffe and Tesla, but succeeds through Raul.
8. The Nuncio not only involved Jaffe, but also his partner and eventual enemy. Who helped Jaffe create the Nuncio?

Answer: Fletcher

 While all of the mentioned were affected by the Nuncio, Fletcher was hired by Jaffe to help him create it. After Fletcher discovered the sentient nature of the Nuncio, he decided to destroy it, but it attacked him and forced its works on him, so that he may evolve.
9. Tommy Ray was the son of Jaffe, through the spiritual rape of Joyce McGuire. What does Tommy Ray call himself after the Nuncio transforms him?

Answer: The Death-Boy

 Tommy Ray becomes the Death-Boy. He mistakenly thinks he can control the dead, then discovers that they have simply chosen him to lead, but that they do as they wish. As he drives from Mexico to California, the dead grow in strength and number, creating a tornado of dust from their bodies and reforming when they take a victim.
10. What character is the only one who was also involved in "Lord of Illusions", another Barker book which was made into a movie?

Answer: Harry D'Amour

 Harry D'Amour was also in the story "Lord of Illusions", which was made into a major motion picture in the 90s. A private investigator with a magnet for the paranormal, he gives some information to Tesla as she becomes more involved in the events unfolding around her.
