Miss Barton appeared to grow slightly fatter following the death of her friend. Miss Marple is very interested in this indeed.
7. Where did Miss Barton appear to commit suicide?

Miss Barton went to speak to a priest but talked nonsense and left. The priest thought that she was slightly mad. Later, her clothes were found on the beach and a note was left saying that she was committing suicide.

Answer: Cousins in Australia

Miss Barton had a family of cousins in Australia who were in need of the money. They were to share her wealth.
9. Who is Miss Marple's village parallel?

Answer: Miss Trout

Miss Marple says that the case reminds her of Miss Trout who managed to claim the pension money of 3 dead women in different parishes. She says that this was because one plain old lady looks much the same as the next and can be indistinguishable through very little effort. This is similar to the two women, the survivor passing herself off as Miss Barton and no-one knowing any different.
10. Where did Dr. Lloyd see Miss Barton (or the woman posing as her) after she had supposedly died?

Answer: Melbourne, Australia

Dr. Lloyd says he was walking down the street and saw a familiar face, that he knew as Miss Barton. She confessed to him her deception and that she had drowned "Miss Durrant".
He does, however, say that she was very ill and didn't expect her to live much longer following that.
