Answer: Vertigo

Hitchcock's 1958 film noir thriller starred James Stewart as a former policeman suffering from acrophobia and Kim Novak as a woman who may have had something to hide. A new camera effect was used in the film to give visualization to Stewart's character's fear of heights. The technique has since become known as "the 'Vertigo' effect".
2. Just another day on a spaceship until something explodes out of your fellow crew member's chest! You better hope the airlock door works. AIE

4. I'll be shocked - shocked! - if you can't figure out the title of this movie set in northern Africa in the early days of World War II. Which movie is missing its consonants? AAAA

Answer: Casablanca

Captain Louis Renault (Claude Rains) couldn't believe that gambling was going on in "Rick's Cafe Americain" in Casablanca, Morocco (as he surreptitiously pocketed his winnings from the roulette table). Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) just wanted to run his restaurant and be left alone but trouble always seemed to turn up. The 1942 movie is frequently hailed as one of Bogart's best.
5. In America, rodentia in the kitchen is a cause for alarm; in France they apparently make them chefs. Which movie is this? AAOUIE

Answer: Ratatouille

"Ratatouille" was a 2007 Disney animated movie about a rat named Remy who had a flair for cooking and a desire to become a chef. The plot became rather involved, the restaurant in question became locally famous, and then the health department finally showed up. But was that the end?
6. He had a good job as a corporate lawyer until they found out he had AIDS and fired him. Wanting to sue the law firm, he had trouble finding someone to represent him. What is the name of the movie? IAEIA

Answer: Philadelphia

Tom Hanks starred as the lawyer with AIDS and Denzel Washington starred as the lawyer who eventually defended him in his lawsuit against his former company. The 1992 movie was among the first mainstream movies to acknowledge HIV/AIDS. Hanks won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role.
7. Subtitled "eine Symphonie des Grauens", this was a 1922 horror movie with a castle, vampire, black coach - all that stuff! OEAU

Answer: Nosferatu

"Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror" is creepy by the standards of any decade. The family sued and all prints were ordered destroyed but some were hidden and surfaced later.
8. Was Steppenwolf's 1968 song "Magic Carpet Ride" included in this movie? Maybe a magic lamp would shine some light on the title. AAI

Answer: Aladdin

Steppenwolf 's song was not included in the 1992 Disney adaptation of the classic Arabian folktale. It was the first animated film to earn half-a-billion U.S. dollars. Among the principal voices were Scott Weigner as Aladdin, Robin Williams as the Genie and Linda Larkin as Jasmine.

Answer: Ghostbusters

The year 1984's "Ghostbusters" showed what could happen when the actors and crew from "Saturday Night Live" TV show and "Second City" improv group got loose on the big screen. The story of the paranormal investigators and their "Ectomobile" became an '80s cultural touchstone.
10. Oh boy, it sure is creepy being a babysitter on this Samhain, here in Illinois. I'm really scared! Oh wait, that looks like Captain Kirk. He'll help us! AOEE

Answer: Halloween

The 1978 movie was so scary it was followed by ten more, and they may not be done yet! The original movie was about escaped mental institution patient Michael Myers (Nick Castle) killing most everyone he came in contact with and babysitter Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) managing to avoid the fate of others.

It was said for many years that the mask that Castle wore was a mask of "Star Trek" actor William Shatner's face. This was later verified by Rick Sternbach, an illustrator/designer who worked with "Star Trek" productions for many years.
