Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. According to the song "Loa House", in which year does the album's story take place?

Answer: 1932

The story takes place in Louisiana, on the Mississippi River.
This family is comprised of David and Sarah Lafayette and Grandpa. Sarah is pregnant in the story.

The band King Diamond was introduced to the public with a single titled "No Presents for Christmas" in 1985.
2. According to the song "A Secret", how many times does the family hear the voodoo drums echo in the night?

Answer: Twice

The voodoo burial ground is located right beside the mansion. The burial ground is also a place for meetings those who practice voodoo.
3. The old colonial house is located just north of a well known town in Louisiana. Which one is it?

Answer: Baton Rouge

Louisiana is very well known for people who practice voodoo.
Voodoo has tons of very interesting superstitions, like; having a woman visit you the first thing on Monday mornings is bad luck for the rest of the week,
or if you sweep trash out of the house after dark you will sweep away your luck.
4. In the song "Life After Death" four people are going to the voodoo burial ground, two women and two men. The two women are Madame Sarita and Lula Chevalier. One of the men is Salem, but who is the other man?

Answer: Doctor le Croix

The voodooists are meeting to find out what to do about the Lafayettes when they decide to get a snake to attack John and possess Sarah using some goofer dust and soil from the graves.

Goofer dust is a kind of powder used for magic voodoo spells.
5. In "Voodoo", Lula needs to drink some blood. Where did that blood come from?

Answer: A chicken

This song is all about a voodoo ritual. There is a hidden track at the end of the last song.
6. What is the name of the voodoo god mentioned on this album?

Answer: Damballah

All of those are real names of mythical evil entities.

Damballah goes by other names including: Damballa Weddo (son of Odan Wedo), Danbala, Danbala Wedo, Damballah Weddo and Danbhala Weddo.
7. In the song "Sending of Dead", what would happen to you if you destroy the voodoo burial ground?

Answer: You will die and never find your rest

This is mentioned by Salem in the song "Sending of Dead". The Lafayettes wanted to destroy the burial ground to have some peace from all the noises of the voodoo rituals taking place at night.
8. In "Cross Of Baron Samedi", one hour is like how much time for Father Malone when he's trying to exorcise Sarah?

Answer: A working day

This song is all about exorcism. Sarah is possessed by spirits of the burial ground and Father Malone is trying to save her soul, along with the soul of her child.

For once, in this album, nobody actually dies. John is presumably alive at the end of the story, Grandpa is fine, Father Malone survives his injuries sustained by the possessed Sarah and Sarah herself survives the story too.
9. In the song "Aftermath", the word "voodoo" was used to describe a strange event. What event was this?

Answer: About Sarah's child talking in a strange, backwards tongue

This is said by Salem at the end of the album, which came out in 1998.
10. In the song "Cross Of Baron Samedi", what does Sarah says to Father Malone?

Answer: Father, I'm about to sin

This is said right before Sarah hits Father Malone with the cross of Baron Samedi, which is full of nails.

"Samedi" is the French translation of the word "Saturday".

The album was released on Massacre Records.
