In 1942, Khomyakova brought down a German Junkers-88 in a dogfight over Saratov, Russia. Tereshkova is the first female to go to space. Savitskaya was the second woman in space and the first to walk in space. Akhmatova was quite possibly the greatest woman poet in Russian literature.
