On 12th December 1908, the first Test was held in London. The first Australian team to tour England left Sydney in August 1908, supposedly without its best players. They played 45 matches, lost two Tests and drew the other.

Answer: Herbert Henry

Herbert Henry Messenger earned his nickname from a family friend, William Dalley who became a Premier of NSW. He resembled William Dalley's portly build and at only 172cm tall was a stocky centre!
