Answer: Germany

Germany finished with five wins and three draws, earning 18 of a possible 24 points.
2. Which is the only team that the Faroe Islands earned a point against?

Answer: Scotland

The Faroe Islands surprisingly earned a 2-2 draw with Scotland on the first day of Group 5 qualifying. Scotland actually had to come back down 2-0 in the first 13 minutes, scoring in the 62nd and 83rd minute to salvage a draw.

Answer: True

Germany finished with a +9 differential (13 for, 4 against), Scotland +4 (12 for, 8 against), Iceland +2 (11 for, 9 against), Lithuania -4 (7 for, 11 against), and Faroe Islands -11 (7 for, 18 against).

Answer: Holland

They moved on to face Group 3 runner up, Holland, who played second to Czech Republic.

Germany qualified by winning Group 5 outright. Scotland moved to the playoff round against Holland, in a two games most goals aggregate. Scotland won the first leg 1-0, but got crushed in second, 6-0, failing to qualify.

Answer: Iceland, Lithuania, Faroe Islands

Iceland finished with four wins, a draw, and three losses for a total of 13 points. Lithuania ended with three wins, a draw, and four losses for 10 points. The Faroe Islands had one draw and seven losses, for 1 point.
7. Which was the most goals scored in one game by one team, in Group 5 qualifying?

Answer: 3

Iceland beat Lithuania 3-0 twice, Scotland beat the Faroe Islands 3-1, Lithuania beat the Faroe Islands 3-1, and Germany beat Iceland 3-0.
8. Which two teams played to the only scoreless draw in Group 5?

Answer: Germany and Iceland

Germany and Iceland played to a draw, 0-0. Iceland finished in third, 5 points behind Germany, but only 1 point behind second place Scotland.
9. How many points separated second place from third place?

Answer: 1

Scotland had 14 points, and Iceland 13. In head to head games, Scotland beat Iceland 2-0, and 2-1.
10. Which player was the leading scorer of Group 5?

Answer: Eidur Gudjohnsen (Iceland)

Iceland's Gudjohnsen totalled five goals in the qualifying. He scored twice in a 3-0 victory over Lithuania, once in a 2-1 defeat by Scotland, once in a 2-1 win over the Faroe Islands, and once in 3-0 shutout over Lithuania.
