This final in 2014 was the third between Germany and Argentina (1986 and 1990) with Germany being the victors 1-0 in Rio de Janiero, Brazil. Joachim Löw took up club management in 1994 when he retired from his playing days. He was appointed head coach of the German national team in 2006. He also lead Germany to victory as head coach in the FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia in 2017.

In the first-ever World Cup, Uruguay beat Argentina 4-2 in the final played in Montevideo, Uruguay. Alberto Suppici (1898-1981) was aged 31 when he masterminded the victory over Argentina coming from behind at 1-2 in front of 93,000. He earned the nickname el Profesor (the Professor).
3. Argentina (1986)

Answer: Carlos Bilardo

Carlos Bilardo is played at club level in Argentina from 1958-1970. He took over the management role of the Argentinian national team from 1983-1990. He led them to two World Cup finals in 1986 and 1990. In 1986 they beat West Germany 3-2 in the final in Mexico City. They met again in Rome four years later, where the result was reversed. Argentina were beaten 1-0 by West Germany.

Aymore Moreira (1912-1998) played as a goalkeeper. He represented Brazil as a player from 1932-1940. He had three stints as manager of the national team from 1953-1968 leading them in 61 matches for 37 wins, 9 draws and 15 loses.

Answer: Franz Beckenbauer

Franz Beckenbauer is a World Cup winning captain (1974) and manager (1990). This World Cup was the last time West Germany competed -- from 1994 it was a unified Germany. Franz Beckenbauer had a distinguished playing career from 1964-1983 and was nicknamed "Der Kaiser" (The Emporer). He played in two World Cup finals as a player (1966 and 1974) and then as a manager (1986 and 1990).

Carlos Alberto Parreira coached five different national teams in six World Cups (Kuwait-1982, United Arab Emirates-1990, Brazil 1994 and 2006, Saudi Arabia 1998 and South Africa 2010). His only success was in 1994 when Brazil beat Italy 3-2 on penalties to lift the World Cup.

Enjoy Bearzot (1927-2010) managed the Italian national team in 104 appearances from 1975-1986. In his legacy the annual award for the Italian manager of the year is given the "Enzo Bearzot Award".

Luiz Felipe Scolari is a former Brazilian professional footballer and has managed both the Brazilian and Portuguese national teams. He is best known for leading Brazil to the 2002 World Cup win over Germany 2-0.

Helmet Schön (1915-1996) represented his country 16 times and scored 17 goals. After WWII he moved into management and then onto the national team from 1964-1978. The national team won the UEFA European Championship in 1972; and the Workd Cup in 1974 with a 2-1 win over the Netherlands.

Vittorio Pozzo (1886-1968) was an Italian footballer, journalist and manager. He led Italy to two Workd Cup victories in 1934 and 1938. He also led the team to the Gold Medal at the 1936 Berlin Olympics.
