Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In 2002, how many pit crew members were allowed to go over the wall?

Answer: Seven

The seven people are the jack man, front tire changer, rear tire changer, catch can man (not me), gas man, front tire carrier, and rear tire carrier.
2. Where does the jack man place the jack?

Answer: On the left side and/or right side door.

The jack man knows where the jack goes because the cars have a strip of yellow to indicate where the jack should be placed.
3. The lug nuts from the car's tires are not used again once they are removed?

Answer: True

The tire changers take out the lug nuts, then take the tires out and put in new tires with lugnuts in place. The other lug nuts are not used ever again.
4. The crew members can push the car out of the pits if the car has stalled?

Answer: True

This can happen if the car's engine was turned off on accident or the car ran out of fuel and needs help getting started.
5. When does the driver know the pit crew service is complete?

Answer: When the jack drops

The Crew Chief tells the pit crew what they need to do for the car and/or what the driver wants to be done, and also tells the driver when the pit service is complete.
