Answer: Jim Johnson

Johnson was seleted sixth from UCLA in '61 for the Niners. Both Alexander and Lott were selected eighth in '63 from UCLA and '81 from USC, respectively. San Fran selected Hall 18th in '92 from Washington.
2. Which of these players was not a member of the '88 49ers Super Bowl squad?

Answer: Tom Cousineau

Cousineau played at linebacker for San Fran in '86 and '87. Ellison was a 49ers linebacker from '82-'88. Young backed up Montana at quarterback from '87-91. '88 was the first and last year Chandler played receiver for the club.

Johnson was mainly a receiver in his second year (1961), and gained 627 receiving yards and 4 TDs that year. Stokes had 517 receiving yards in '95 for San Francisco. Francis had 505 receiving yards in '88 for the 49ers. Rathman had 616 in '89 for them.

Bruce Taylor had 43 for 516 with a 12-yard average in 1970. Solomon also had a good rookie season returning punts, 26 for 320 yards, and bringing one back all the way.

Clark's 85 catches were 2 ahead of Minnesota back Ted Brown, and 3 less than Kellen Winslow's league-leading 88 receptions. Montana completed 63.7 percent of his passes, with 19 TDs amd 12 INTs, with a 88.4 QB rating, second to only the AFC Bengals's Kenny Anderson's amazing 98.4, with 29 TDs and only 10 INTs.
