1. Who was smoking in Sam's office?

Answer: Rebecca

She was in there contemplating life. She then told Sam that that cigarette was the last one she'd ever smoke.

2. What happened when Rebecca threw her cigarette out?

Answer: She burned down part of the bar.

Right as she left the office you saw the flames come out of the waste basket. The next shot you saw were the firemen in what's left of the bar.

3. What did Sam think happened at first?

Answer: That it was another trick from Gary

Sam was looking around and then started to laugh. He told Gary it was time to hit the switch and make everything go back together.

4. Who took what happened to the bar the worst?

Answer: Norm

He kept crying and saying, "Oh the humanity." He then went over to Gary's for the next few days.

5. Why was Cliff upset about what happened?

Answer: He left undelivered mail at the bar.

He asked Norm if they could finish delivering it around 2am the night before. Norm said "no", so Cliff just left it at the bar saying he'd deliver it tomorrow.

Later on, Rebecca came back and offered Sam her life savings to help fix the bar. Sam went to say something and she said, "What I did was terrible, but what you did was worse because you did it on purpose?" Sam ended up rehiring Rebecca because when he first came back to Cheers after his boat sunk, she gave him a job - so now they were even.
