1. Why does Prince George need to marry?

Answer: He has run out of money

Prince George has grown fond of playing cards and has lost all his money. The only way for him to get money is to marry someone rich. This, of course, suits Blackadder as he wants a wage rise and needs the Prince to be rich again.

2. In which newspaper does Blackadder read about the "mysterious northern beauty Miss Amy Hardwood"?

Answer: The Times

The article about Amy Hardwood says she's been seen in London "spending flipping great wodges of cash". Blackadder comments on how "The Times" has gone downhill.

3. Which highwayman is dominating the news in this episode?

Answer: The Shadow

Baldrick cuts out the "wanted" posters in the newspaper to put in his Highwaymaen scrapbook.

4. What machine did Amy's father invent that (supposedly) made him his fortune?

Answer: The Ravelling Nancy

It's a machine that ravels cotton, apparently. Amy's father was played by Warren Clarke and was very funny. Mr. Hardwood is not in fact a rich man, he tells Blackadder that he and his daughter are living purely on lard sandwiches. Nice.

Mr. Hardwood says he has never heard of two people marrying that are as far apart in class as the Prince and his daughter, but then Amy reminds him of his own marriage and various other family members who were vastly different to their partners and got married.

It turns out that Amy is The Shadow and she reveals to Blackadder that she hates squirrels. She dislikes their tails and their noses. She shoots several of them while she is talking to Blackadder.
