Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. This anime includes a hyper schoolgirl who goes by the nickname Wildcat.

Answer: "Azumanga Daioh"

The character in question is Tomo Takino from "Azumanga Daioh." Tomo is also one of the three girls who makes up "The Knuckleheads," a group of her not-so-intelligent friends. The other two Knuckleheads are Kagura and Osaka. The other three animes were random titles I picked up.
2. From a slightly lesser known anime, this character is a hyperactive android with a voracious appetite.

Answer: Yuri

Yuri is from "Galaxy Fraulein Yuna". Lina is from "Slayers", Usagi is from "Sailor Moon", and A-ko is from "Project A-ko." While the other three possible answers are very hungry, often hyper anime girls, only Yuri is an android.
3. Perhaps best known for dying multiple times in the first episode of her series, this title character has the same first and last name.

Answer: Excel

Excel Excel is the title character of the series "Excel Saga." Yuna is the title character for "Galaxy Fraulein Yuna," Shinobu is the title character from "2x2=Shinobuden," and Usagi forms the title character in "Sailor Moon."
4. What is the name of the hyper mechanical genius best known for building kissing machines, live ammo toy tanks, and a monsterous battle turtle named Mecha Tama?

Answer: Kaolla

Kaolla is from "Love Hina," Washu is from the multiple "Tenchi" series, Ed is from "Cowboy Bebop", and Chiyo is from "Azumanga Daioh." Of the four answers only Kaolla has built such monstrosities, though one really couldn't put something so randomly odd past either Washu or Ed.
5. This magical girl also enjoys being a part of her school's cheerleading team.

Answer: Sakura

Sakura is from "Cardcaptor Sakura," Ichigo is from "Tokyo Mew Mew," Sasami (in this instance) is from "Magical Girl Pretty Sammy," and Utena is from "Revolutionary Girl Utena." Utena as a cheerleader? There's a funny image.
6. In "Battle Athletes Victory," she had a running chance to attend the sports university in space but lost it when she broke her ankle in a race days before the departure.

Answer: Ichino

Ichino, having become very upset that Akari might leave her behind and forget her upon traveling to University Satellite, challenged her to a race to determine who better deserved to go. She pushed herself too far and snapped her ankle during the race.

The injury took her out of the competition for a slot on the University Satellite roster. The three who did make it were Akari, Jessie, and Tanya.
7. We get the chance to see how energetic this playgirl can be when, in one episode, she runs back and forth across town to date two men at once.

Answer: Minako

All the answers are from "Sailor Moon." The incident in question is when Minako attempted to date both Tiger Eye and Hawk Eye at once in Super S. While Makoto and Rei (to a much smaller extent) are always eager to check out hot guys, Minako was the two-timer in this scenario. If you picked Haruka, shame on you - playgirl she is, but NOT when it comes to dating men. =P
8. In the small known anime "Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito," this is the name of the happy-go-lucky librarian.

Answer: Lilith

The four answers were all characters in this anime, which is translated into English as meaning "The Traveler Yami, Hat and Book." Hazuki is the main character, a schoolgirl who has fallen in love with her mute sister Hatsumi. Hatsumi is actually Eve, the creator of humans, who disappears at midnight on her 16th birthday. Being present during the disappearance endows Hazuki to travel to other worlds in the same manner as Eve, and she ends up at a library that holds each world sealed inside a book. Lilith is the librarian and Yami is the hat she wears.

This anime is based off of a hentai video game.
9. This little computer-type character acts as an alarm clock by starting her household's day with "wakey wakey" exercises.

Answer: Sumomo

While Yuri is another "Galaxy Fraulein Yuna" reference, Sumomo, Kotoko, and Chii are all from persecoms from "Chobits." Sumomo is called Plum in the manga.
10. While this girl isn't really hyper, her antics get her into odd situations, including hiding an array of ultimately poorly chosen animals in her rival's room, traveling to Africa only to be constantly chased by elephants, and turning into a cow.

Answer: Nanami

Nanami is from "Revolutionary Girl Utena," Ling-Pha is from "Battle Athletes (Victory)," Martina is from "Slayers Next," and Hyatt is from "Excel Saga." The first three women are all tricksters who can resort to unfair (and sometimes strange) tactics to get what they want, something which can and usually does end up placing them in unusual situations. Hyatt was a random insertion.
11. What will probably be the most recognized character on the quiz, she is known best for riding around on a scooter and hitting people with a guitar.

Answer: Haru

I thought that from the growing popularity "FLCL" has gained this would be one of the easiest questions on the quiz, so the other three answers were really nothing more than anime plugs to get more good titles out there to the masses. =P Haru is from "Furi Kuri" obviously, Chloe is from "Noir," Mil is from "Maze Megaburst Space," and Ukyou is from "Ranma 1/2."
12. This young woman, along with her dastardly male and animal cohorts, shows up on an episode-by-episode basis spouting over-the-top introductions and setting elaborate traps that usually backfire then cause the trio to be blown through the sky.

Answer: Musashi

Musashi, perhaps better known by her English name Jessie, is from "Pokemon." The other names are slightly more random. Kasumi is another name from "Pocket Monsters." Tira is from "Sorcerer Hunters." The last one, Mai, is a random character. The name is all over the place - the teacher from "Galaxy Fraulein Yuna," one of the girls from "Yu-Gi-Oh," and not to mention the alternative spellings for "Hand Maid May" and "My Hime" among other things.
13. Greed and food driven sorceress Lina Inverse is voiced by this Japanese voice actress who is well adapt at playing the sometimes frantic role.

Answer: Megumi Hayashibara

Megumi also does such voices as Rei from "Evangelion" and Faye from "Cowboy Bebop." Yumi Touma plays another voice in "Slayers," that of Sylphiel, but is probably better known for her role as Urd in "Ah! My Goddess." Masami Okui is a singer and does indeed sing one of the songs from the "Slayers" soundtrack, as well as one of my personal favorites from "Revolutionary Girl Utena." The last name, Kotono Mitsuishi, is another actress with a great voice for lively characters, known for playing Usagi in "Sailor Moon" and Excel from "Excel Saga" (though, like Megumi, she is equally as adept at playing serious roles a la Juri from "Revolutionary Girl Utena" and Mirielle in "Noir").
14. Another mad genius type, this woman created an expansive laboratory in her host's closet.

Answer: Washu

Much like the earlier similar question, all the answers are various geniuses. Kaolla is from "Love Hina" (we covered that already), Fuu is from "Magic Knight Rayearth," and Ami is from "Sailor Moon."
15. While she can be very serious in her role as a military woman, she can still be easy-going and is her most dynamic when drinking.

Answer: Misato

The common thread here is all four women are habitually drunk, but only Misato is a military leader. The other three are Kitsune from "Love Hina," Yukari from "Azumanga Daioh," and Naga from the "Slayers" OAVs.
